Compatibility
I had been through all of the reviews wondering if this player would suit my needs before eventually going for it. I would have bought sooner if I had found answers to all my questions so thought I would write a quick review - just in case some of you potential buyers are still on the fence.Had a LG 3D blue-ray player with USB input which had no trouble playing everything off my NTFS hard-drive. Unfortunately my player 'died' a few weeks back. This little player has turned out to be an exact replacement. It's tiny - about half the size of the 2TB hard drive it's playing off. But for what it does, size isn't an issue.Remote is perfectly adequate - much better than some I've seen. It does everything you need. But I'm more interested in its functionality rather than what it looks like.Connected the power, drive & HDMI cable & switched it on - very fast start up.It has no issues with my 2 TB NTFS formatted hard drive; It has played everything my previous player did.Menus are simple & straightforward. Providing you have the files organized nicely into folders/subfolders on your hard drive, easy to navigate.I'm finding picture quality on play back to be excellent. (Anything else would have been a major disappointment given the cost of the telly!) Majority of files are 3 to 4 Gb & I've not experienced any stutter or lag. I would guess that the avi cable would result in a little loss of quality, but I've no need to try it at the minute.3D play back is excellent too. (Although it's the television doing all the 'conversion' work there.)Plays mp3's well & even includes a few basic, pre-set equaliser settings. And will also allow you to scroll through any jpegs on your drive.Playing anything else is a bonus. I bought it to play back my movie files & it does a great job. It's recognised every type of file I've thrown at it (so far). And it recognises NTFS format.Great little no frills player.

Frustrating Experience with the Media Player
I recently purchased this media player, hoping for a smooth and enjoyable entertainment experience. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from ideal. One major issue I've encountered is that the media player often freezes during playback. This has been a consistent problem, and it's incredibly frustrating when I'm in the middle of watching a movie or TV show. It disrupts the entire viewing experience and sometimes requires me to restart the player.Another significant drawback is the unresponsiveness of the remote control. It's not just an occasional hiccup; it's a recurring problem that makes navigating through menus and controlling playback a real hassle. I find myself repeatedly pressing buttons on the remote, hoping for a response, which detracts from the convenience I expected from this device.Overall, I'm disappointed with this media player's performance. While it may have some promising features, the frequent freezing and unresponsive remote have severely impacted my enjoyment of it. I would advise potential buyers to consider alternative options with more reliable performance.

Simple to use. well built. just works as it should
i have an old xenta media player like this and have used an old sumvision micro 2 in the past. some videos i had would not play no matter how i converted them!i needed a simple media player that would simply begin playing videos in a list over and over all day without having to press anything else.this one is perfect!you can set the setting to autoplay as soon as it powers on. you dont even need to press power on for it to power up. once it recieves power it turns on and begins playing the first video in your list!and then it plays the next video then with no problems and you can resize them on the screen to make it fit.cant fault it really. nice solid design. doesnt feel too warm so the components inside should last a while.played mostly all video formats ive thrown at it and it just works without any hassle.its perfect since a lot of players today focus on streaming or when they can play media files you almost always have a software hurdle such as no ability to play the next video on its own (you have to press a button) etc.this is great if say you have kids and a load of video files to keep them entertained and need a player that would just keep on playing until you press stop.or just have media files you need to play but they wont play on all your other devices.it connects via hdmi and has an rca cable so you can watch modern video files on an old tv setup

A pretty neat piece of kit
Overall, I think this is a pretty neat piece of kit – reasonably priced, pocket-sized and does the job adequately. However, it does have a few annoying niggles that prevent it from getting five stars.Firstly the user documentation is very poor – just one folded piece of paper and 90% of what it tells you is obvious anyway. When I first used the player, it flatly refused to play some of my files that played perfectly on my PC. After a frustrating couple of weeks I solved the problem by reformatting my disc drive from NTFS to FAT (not mentioned in the documentation). The user interface is very basic – just a list of folders and filenames. With over 200 movies on my disc drive it’s essential that they are named and organised sensibly, as there’s no search or index facility to help you find what you’re looking for.I like to have subtitles on when I watch a movie, so I was quite impressed when it automatically picked up and displayed my .srt subtitle files – however the font size was so small I had to move my chair nearer to the TV in order to read them, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to change the size.I haven’t had any problem with large files, as reported by other reviewers. My largest file is 5GB which plays OK. Overall I’m pretty happy with this player.PS. 7/10/19 Just worked out how to change subtitle size using OSD, so my only real complaint is with the poor user instructions (still haven't worked out how to use Repeat and GoTo functions).
