This all in one pond pump has worked a treat in my pond which was very murky like green pea soup! It was easy to assemble and wire into my waterproof electric box. Two wires ( one for the pump and led light, and the other for the UV light). At first the led light did not work even though I positioned the rubber cover over the light sensor so that the light should come alight whether in daylight or night-time. However I positioned the pump into the pond and the pump and waterfall worked ok. Out of the blue the led light came on! So I removed the rubber cover from the sensor and the light went out. After dark the led light came on, so all was working as it should. After a day the pump pressure seemed a bit low so I turned off the power and cleaned out the filters which were clogged up. I did this each day for 4 days and the pond became really clear so that I could easily see all the fish and actually see the bottom of the pond! I will only need to clean the filters about once a month or so from now on. This is a great pump as it does everything without having to buy separate filters or UV lights.

We've had pond filters/pumps for years, and this one is the best yet. The traditional set-up is a pump, some hose to the UV, then into a tank with foam filters, bio media, and back into the water. This works the other way round sucking the water in through the top, through course foam, finer foam, very fine thin foam, bio media, UV and then the pump. All under the water, so it will never leak or pump the pond dry. Genius. Cleaning our old one was a real chore, and very messy. The pump always needed cleaning as it got wrapped in weed, sometimes the hose needed cleaning, the UV was of dubious use after as it was always mucky, and the foam was very messy to lift out and clean. Leave it too long, and it would overflow and the pond level would promptly drop. With this you can either have a fountain, and it comes with a variety of pipes and spouts, or you can add a hose to use a pond side ornamental object. I've stayed with the supplied fountain, which gives a really good 'running water' noise. The fountain outlet adjusts in every direction, so if like me your pond bottom isn't that flat, and the water level varies depending on how much it's rained, you can still get the fountain to spray straight up from the water level. The LED lights illuminate the fountain and are surprisingly effective. You can cover the sensor, so they don't have to be on if you don't want them. It's been running for a couple of months, and I waited to review it until I knew how it was working. The water is now crystal clear, which the other products very rarely achieved. It's really simple to clean. I leave the handle upright as it's in around 18 inches of water, and this makes it very easy to lift out to clean it. My pond volume is close to the maximum suggested, and has some large goldfish in it. The instructions suggest washing the filters in a bucket of pond water, but it's much easier to just hose them clean. (I leave the bio media alone unless it's really nasty.) As you lift it out of the pond, the main weight is the water in it, so I tip it so it goes back into the pond, and then lift it out nearly empty and much lighter. It's been really well thought out. Once the pump dropped off, and this was due to the fitting holding it to the main body unscrewing. I did have to take it completely to bits to re-fit that bit, but that was only 4 small screws and some time. I have been cleaning it weekly, but I'm probably contributing to that by using treatments for blanket weed and muck digestion, making it work quite hard. You know when it needs a clean, as the fountain gets smaller. There's also algae which needs cleaning off the lights and fountain head to keep them working well. Handy tip, use an upturned garden soil sieve to put the dirty foam on, and hose through it to clean them. Do it on the lawn, and it's free lawn food as well. It's possible to clean it all with only your hands getting wet - with care.

I thought I'd wait a few weeks to write a review to see how it went. Good - it does keep the water really very clear. I installed it after I had a complete pea soup. I installed this along with some of the algae treatment from the same manufacturer. It took about two weeks but now the pond is clear. I have quite a big pond, 7mX3m so I'm not surprised it took a while. The filters are pretty easy to clean and well designed. The UV light appears to do its job. The cables are good and long making it easy to get to a socket. The power consumption is relatively low. My socket is showing it at 24.5Watts. The fountain is pretty. It has two water outlets. One for the fountain and another which you could attach onto a water feature or a hose pipe. I attached it to a hose pipe so I can have a good flow of water from opposite sides of the pond. Negatives - the fountain extender snapped the first day of ownig it. You need to be careful lifting it out the pond, only use the handle and nothing else. The decorative light stopped working after one week. I tried changing the bulb but to no avail. It's a pitty as when it worked it looked nice. I don't care enough to send it back though. It needs two sockets for the two supplies, the pump and the uv light, this might be a pain for you. In addition it needs you to install two plugs as it comes only with bare wires (it's the law apparently) Overall its a good product, but not perfect, nice to have everything in one package with minimal faff.

The first one we ordered of these just blatantly did not power on. Luckily we were able to return it and receive a new one. This one has worked well for a couple of months until today when I went to clean it dutifully as I do every three days, to put it back together and lo and behold no power when I switched it back on. Upon changing the fuse in the plug, when this did not work I removed the impeller to check for any blockages. It transpires that the rod that goes through the middle of the impeller is weak plastic and has just snapped. I have contacted Blagdon customer care (which by the way is shocking and they have no telephone support at all ) I am told that because the impeller is a moving part it would not be covered within the warranty period. So I have spent £134 on something which lasted two months. There was no advice given in the email regarding where I may be able to purchase a replacement part for this pump, so I’m assuming that this is now destined for landfill. Which in today’s day and age I think it’s absolutely shocking. That said it is an easy to install pump and also to clean, so if you are not particularly worried about something being of substandard quality then go for this.

Well constructed quality product, the bell fountain looks great especially illuminated at night with the built in automatic light. It's almost cleared my 1500 litre pond in 24 hours (and it was pretty murky). My old Oase 2500 was OK in my old noddy pre-formed plastic pond but not good enough for the bigger pond. The All Pond Solutions CUP-359 I initially bought was faulty, generally poor quality and useless in this size pond. People that complain about having to maintain in-pond pumps should do their research and buy the right product before complaining, all in-pond pumps need regular cleaning but are neater (don't need hose all over the place) and don't need something to hide them outside the pond. This hits the brief on quality and function. Can't comment on how it functions if you want to supply a stream or waterfall in addition to the fountain as that's not what I bought it for but imagine there would have to be a compromise. The only criticism I have is the fact that it has 2 leads and needs 2 plugs, I'm sure the design could be altered to use 1 lead but it doesn't detract from my overall experience.

The handle on the pump designed to lift the pump out of the water became detached and I have been unable to reattach it. The handle holds the lid and filters in place and and is essential for the pump to work. I need the handle to be replaced or the main body of the pump with handle attached.

The pump failed after less than two week's use but the bottom line is, Blagdon replaced my impeller "as a gesture of goodwill". They suffer from having robots giving robotic answers in their customer support area. They are deaf to reason. I sent them a photo of my impeller shaft, showing that it was thin and malformed at one end and had broken after less than three week's use. The shaft doesn't move, the impeller rotates upon it. I have no fish so my water was clean and fresh. I pointed all this out to them beforehand. Here is a selection from their replies: "We cannot be held responsible for a foreign body entering the impeller chamber". (Are your filters no good then?) "Debris entering the chamber is unfortunately, beyond our control and is not a manufacturing fault with the product". (They don't offer an explanation of how a fixed rod could grind itself to nothing at one end where nothing touches it) "We have strict quality control procedures". (Please admit that a bad part slipped through the net). "The impeller is a moving part and is therefore a 'consumable' item". (the impeller itself was fine). Anyway, they gave me a new impeller/shaft assembly, for which I thank them, but I would like them a lot more if they would admit the truth. Customers understand that sometimes a bad part gets through. Is it ethical, or even lawful, for them to state that the impeller is not covered by guarantee? There is another legal point with the electrics, which I'll come to. I move on to the general review. You get a lot of plastic and foam for your £106. You get some badly-matched electrical bits. A pump transformer with a short mains lead to be fitted near the house. A UV lamp starter with long mains lead to be fitted near the pond. Quite how the transformer can have an IP68, to 1 metre depth, rating on the label including the CE mark, and then have a label stuck on the side stating that it is "not the submersible type", is beyond me. When I worked in electrical manufacturing the person who signed the CE form was responsible for the item matching the original specification. Sounds like a prosecution waiting to happen. Not believing that the items were weather-proof and not wishing to spend £179 on Blagdon's outdoor kit, I bought an IP 67 box (ebay), some armoured cable (Screwfix) and some glands, total about £25. I cut the wires because the low-voltage plug would not go through a gland and the high-voltage cable was moulded at both ends. I put everything in the box and reconnected using terminal blocks. I believe it is fully weather-proof and it works with the new impeller, keeps the water clear, supplying just enough water for my 2-outlet split-level pond. I don't use the LED lamp. Most people would buy the kit or call an electrician, but the advertising doesn't mention this. Incidentally, I've used an unfiltered Hozelock pump for several years in my pond, with no filtration or maintenance. I didn't even lift it out in the winter. It wasn't powerful enough and it didn't clean the water but it still works. ********* Update, June 24th 2014. It's gone wrong again. Making a rattling noise and not pumping any water. I've had a look inside, the plastic shaft is slightly worn, possibly enough to cause the rotor to stick to the sides of the stator. Perhaps I'll try a new Hozelock to see if they are as reliable as my old one. ********* Conclusion, 28th June 2014. A filter/pump unit costing over £100 should last longer than from September to the following June. I have modified the wiring for fitting, as revealed in my review, so I wouldn't even ask the Blagdon robots to reimburse me. The important bit, the pump, is made mainly from plastic and is clearly not fit to survive in the conditions, if the built-in filters do not save it from what Blagdon call "debris". I will not buy Blagdon items again. The doorbell sounds - my Hozelock has arrived! Will review it in due course.

We were into a third summer of a pond badly contaminated with green algae after the previous twenty two years without a problem. We think the algae was introduced with a dodgy bag of aquatic compost. The pump we were using at the time couldn't clear it and a larger pump also was unable to clear it. We purchased the Blagdon 5 in 1 6000 in a state of desparation. Reviews that we had read led us to believe that we may have to persevere for a month to get appreciable results. We are now at six weeks and our pond is completely clear and we can see the bottom of the pond which is 24 inches deep. We have had to clean the filters twice per week and they are still filling up with brown silt which I suspect is from the bottom of the pond although we try to dredge it frequently. The cleaning is straightforward once the pump is out although it's rather heavy to remove and by leaving on the switch for the UV light we are able to check on the bulb with each clean as the inspection cover is in the filter case. This is without doubt the best designed pump we have had, is easy to clean and appears robust in construction. Time will tell on its longevity but I have confidence that, with good maintenance we should get years of service out of it.

Had been using a solar filter but obviously when there was no sun it didn't filter so I decided to buy a more expensive power corded filter. So far I'm impressed with the filter and have seeing a vast improvement in water quality. The fish seem to be happier(if that makes sense) Keep in mind that the UV light needs to be replaced (as per manufacturers advice). I did a quick search and the price seems to be around the $50AU mark. Also you will find they need to be connected to a power plug so you will need 2 of them, easy enough to connect. It is compatible to Australian power supply. Would recommend.

Ho acquistato questo prodotto in quanto il mio laghetto da circa 750 litri era sempre torbido e verde. Questo filtro pompa è dotato di nr. 3 spugne filtranti di varie dimensioni e 4 sacchetti di cannolicchi in ceramica e la lampada uv-c da 9 watt. In pochi mesi il mio laghetto grazie a questo prodotto è tornato ad essere limpidissima. Il prodotto è dotato di lampa a led a immersione che rene il laghetto molto elegante. Si accende e si spegne in automatico in quanto è dotato di un sensore crepuscolare. L'asta dei giochi d'acqua è regolabile in tutte le direzioni il ciò lo rende molto utile, specialmente se il fondo del laghetto non è in piano. Faccio presente che nei mesi caldi il filtro lo lavo una volta a settimana in quanto si intasa di melma e alghe. Da qui vi rendete conto del suo ottimo funzionamento.

Increíble!! En solo 3 días mi mini estanque se 250L paso de ser verde ( ni se veían los peces) a agua cristalina. Un 10... la iluminación nocturna queda de maravilla . Lastima no hacerlo comprado antes, 2 cambiando agua, añadiendo productos químicos.. y este filtro en 3 días lo deja perfecto..

Excellent product but poor quality, handle broken already so lid doesn't stay on in pond.
