what is the actual thickness? the info says 0.01 inches, real helpful

The best way to describe the thickness is as follows: The thickness is adjustable in three ways, but at full thickness (i.e., if you purchase the pillow protector and zip that as well as zipping shut the actual pillow) it is about six to ten inches thick. What this feels like is the thickness of a very nice five-star hotel pillow. In other words, if you are a six foot tall male with an average to above average set of shoulders, this will support your head completely if you lay on your side and your shoulders will not be scrunched up by a pillow that's too narrow. On the other hand, if you unzip the pillow and unzip the pillow protector -- or if you don't buy a pillow protector and just unzip the pillow itself -- the thickness is about two to four inches less. When used in this way, the pillow would be suitable for a smaller man or a woman, because there isn't enough fluff to do otherwise. When coupled with the pillow protector, and considering the zipper-adjustment-system of this pillow and the coolness and material of this brand, the Marlow is by far the best pillow I've seen. The one criticism I would have is that this is not among the coolest pillows on the market, and Amazon sells other pillows that are gel and memory foam that are very cool to the touch. But make no mistake: The Marlow Bed Pillow is still quite cool, but my point is that it isn't the coolest one on the market but instead is perhaps in the top ten. Overall a great pillow, particularly for the money, and especially if you buy the pillow protector which -- if Amazon doesn't have it -- you can get directly from Marlow which is what I did.
