Very good in depth manual
Very good in depth manual, got it this for my 12 year old son....To teach him the basics of PC building, he seems to understand most of it, so very pleased.

Might save you '00s
This is a good book. You should buy it for 3 main reasons: 1. You will learn more about how gaming machines are put together. This helped us when ours failed and we had to trouble-shoot which component had gone, and how to replace it. 2. You will learn what a well-built gaming machine should look like (cable management, cooling etc). 3. You will learn that in the current economic environment, unlike the 1990s, it is very difficult to build your own machine economically. There are so many 'build your own game machine' sites now that buying from a good builder will save you a lot of time and money, as well as giving you a customised machine that has future expandability.

Very few PC building books these days are up to date. Most are so old they still talk about using 56K modems. Do they even still sell those? But this book is GREAT!! Its up to date. The version I have is 2015. Talks about all the NEW CPU's and GPU's even the Titan video card is in this book and even talking about the new Titan Z I believe it was called. This is a great book for ppl that have never built a PC before. And great to help get a idea on how much you might be spending to build your own custom rig. If you go by what it says in this book you will deff build a sweet gaming PC that will have you smiling ear to ear and have your bank account nice n full n happy

A very good manual on building a strong gaming PC on your own. Written in the UK, it uses British Pounds as the money but it is easy to convert to US or CDN dollars. Written in 2015 it covers most of the new CPU's, GPU's, and Motherboards available. They also discuss air and water cooled systems, as well as multi GPU's by the two major vendors. A cornucopia of information, examples, and suggestions for building a low end gaming machine all the way to a very high end machine. Throw away your consoles and build a worthy gaming PC instead.

Un bon livre (en anglais bien sur). Donne quelques montages comme suggestion mais m'a permis de comprendre beaucoup plus le fonctionnement de l'ordinateur, me permettant de comprendre comment choisir les pièces

This book assisted me by describing the necessary considerations when buying parts, and considering software for my computer. The unfortunate truth however, is that when it comes to physically assembling it, this book is not entirely helpful. For anyone who has built a computer before, this should be no issue, but for someone who has very little knowledge and is attempting learn with a companion, this book should not be your only consideration. I still recommend this book however, as it is currently up to date with it's description of modern technology and recommendations in terms of equipment. As a result, if this book were to accompany the manuals that you get with each part, it should be of assistance. I intend to continue to reference it when I add on to my current computer, as there are descriptions of certain operations in regards to certain hardware.

Good introduction and tips. Information on the assembly part is fairly brief. Talks about OS, overclocking, troubleshooting, and computer accessories (mice, keyboard, monitors, headsets, etc.). Helped me to pick parts for my first custom computer. Combined with the manuals from the parts, assembly was effortless.
