Well worth the higher price
Yes there are cheaper ones, but this has all the adapters you need, a clear chart for which adapter to use on which type of outlet (no need to try all different ones), and a sturdy case to store everything in for later.Total novice needed this to convince my landlord there really is a water flow problem here, but I'm glad I bought a good one because it'll be useful for all sorts of plumbing troubleshooting that arises in older buildings. It saved me a big headache to find out for myself that my "low water pressure" was not pressure but flow (indicating a blockage somewhere). By looking up my shower valve on the Moen website, and finding that I have 45psi of pressure at all the water points in my place, I could see that the shower valve should put out 5 gallons per minute with the shower head removed. It was only dispensing 1 gallon per minute at 45psi, and having that data finally got the landlord to take some action.

Right on the money!
The Flow Doctor Water Pressure Gauge worked perfectly. Just got the main water shutoff valve and main line coming into the house replaced and a pressure valve installed. The plumber did a great job and out of three plumbers, the price was reasonable for the work done. The pressure coming into the house was over 100 psi which is way too high and can be damaging to the plumbing. The call to plumber started with a weird whining noise that progressively got louder and I traced the source to the main water pipe and valve coming into the house. Consequently, we called the plumber the very next day and had it repaired by the following afternoon. All said and done, the repair in combination with installing the pressure valve resolved the strange ghostly whining in the pipe, and the plumber cut the pressure back to 50 psi. That said, I purchased the Flow Doctor Water Pressure Gauge to check the pressure myself and low and behold, it was exactly 50 psi per the plumber's recommended setting. So now I have validated their work and I am impressed with the accuracy of this little gauge. I did see a few folks state that their Flow Doctor leaked excessively. I had no issues. I do know that it would leak like a sieve if you did not use the supplied rubber washer. As long as you pop that on before you connect it to your mains water or hose line, you should have no leaks. Enough said! I will write a follow up review should the Flow Doctor fail down the road. But consider no news to be good news. I found it to be a handy and accurate little tool and it is a very good idea to ensure that your water pressure is where it should be to protect your plumbing. A small investment for some peace of mind and a lot cheaper than having a major leak somewhere in the house due to excessive water pressure!

Great to perform a quick pressure check.
I was having some issues with the water pressure in my house and needed to perform a quick check to rule other things out. As it turns out, it saved me a ton of money a few months later when I needed some plumbing work. The plumber called me outside to show me that the water pressure coming into my house was too high. He had his pressure gauge on the outside faucet and showed me that the water pressure was 110 psi, and that I needed to replace my pressure reduction valve as it must be faulty. I found that odd and then put my pressure gauge on the same faucet and it showed 65psi. When I showed him, he said my gauge may not be as accurate as his since his was professional grade. I asked him to use his again to check the pressure one more time. When he pulled his out, he was trying to avoid me being able to see the gauge face....HUGH warning sign! I insisted on seeing the gauge, and low and behold, it was registering 45 psi when it wasn’t plugged into anything! Suffice to say, he apologized profusely and claimed that it must have just broken. This gauge is cheap insurance and a nice gauge to have around, and you just never know when it will come in handy!

Works great
Now it worked great on places I could get it to fix. Even with extra fittings would not work on kitchen and bathroom sinks.

Water sprays from connector and adapters.
The title says it all. Even on a standard garden hose connection, a significant amount of water sprays from the connector. It feels tight and there is an O-ring. But tightening or adjusting will not stop water from spraying. The included adapters are plastic and provide an even worse seal than the standard garden hose connector. On the rare chance that it is able to make a solid connection, the readings are completely inaccurate. It might read 60 PSI one moment and then significantly higher the next. Known good gauges all show consistent pressure of 50. In the few places where there are some kind of instruction or information on operation, it is badly translated English.
