Slice 10514 Mini Cutter, Ceramic Safety Blade, Pocket Sized, Auto-Retractable, Stays Sharp Up to 11X Longer, Single

Great little tool for retail workers. Truly is a 'safety blade' but one that actually works. Almost impossible to accidentally cut yourself with, yet with pressure applied; it cuts as well if not better than the cheap steel alternatives. Blade lasts a good while if un-abused, then can be swapped round for another life cycle. Finding replacement blades is tricky though, for the price I'd just buy another cutter as it seems easier than sourcing good value blade packs. If you work anywhere than involves a lot of box/packaging opening, this is definitely worth it vs the £3 steel ones imo.

I bought this because I work a lot with packaging. This is nice and compact, and fits easily into any pocket, and can even be left on a metal base due the magnet inside. I love how easy it is to control the blade length. I am easily able to cut therough packaging without cutting into the contents. Something I see a lot of evidence of with other peoples choices of cutter. The pointy blades and rounded blades are interchangable which is brilliant. This was a good choice on my part and i highly reccomend it.

First off, I thought this was going to be abit bigger than it actually is, and thought these little plastic looking blades would do much. I work in a warehouse I need a decent knife to cut packaging, etc. well these ceramic blades just cut through the packaging with ease. The only thing was that it wouldn't cut plastic strapping very well which is why I didn't give it 5 star's. I can't comment at the moment on how long the blades last but time will tell.

I bought 2 of these as gifts for 2 family members that work in Retail. They have both used them and think they are great. The new blade is great too. It does not cut you if you over cut the box. Safety blade is a must in a busy enviroment.

As you can see from the photo, there's a green slider at the rear of this with two icons on either side - one a closed padlock and the other an open padlock, so this is presumably how you lock the blade in position in use, however, as you can see from the video, it makes no difference whatsoever what position you have the slider in, the blade will always retract when you release the large button. Now it's not a major problem, holding the button forward all the time whilst cutting something, but it is a bit of a pain really, especially since it's got a dedicated locking switch. I've rated it at a median 3 stars because it's still very usable: it opens packages with ease and the internal magnet attaches it firmly to your fridge or any other metallic surface, but I'd really like to be able to lock the blade in place whilst using it. Could be that the one I received is broken, but I can only speak as I find.

For its very compact size, it really shreds my boxes into small bits making them far easier to recycle and dispose of. I’ve been recommended it off a mate of mine that works in a warehouse, these are issued there and i’m happy to say that the recommendation wasn’t wrong. All my boxes get the Slice Mini Cutter treatment, I reckon.

Been a longtime user of Slice blades & this was my 3rd purchase for use at home as our current one had become too blunt. I really liked the concept of being able to replace the ceramic blade - doing a little bit more to save the planet and all that - even if the ceramic blades are incredibly expensive! This blade has a MASSIVE negative point in that you have to keep your thumb pressed on the button all the time, in order to keep the blade out to be able to slice - theres no ability to lock it so that the blade is out all the time. Important safety feature you might argue that this is progress? Well not if you are left handed it isnt - because the button is placed to only work for right handed people - making this latest slice device absolutely useless to me & also anyone who wants to be able to use this with their left hand. HOWEVER...there is a slot available for left handers, but if you do that, any right handers in your household who want to use it then have the same problem/ Pretty disappointing they didnt think about this with the design. Certainly not worth the £11+ price tag when not everyone in our household can use it. If you are planning on just you using this or if all your household use the same hand, then this is ok - just doesnt offer anything above their cheaper ones.

A great way to safely open packages. The ceramic blade is not sharp like a knife and will not cut your skin if you touch or even run it along your hand. However it will cut through packing tape and even the cardboard itself with ease. Build quality seems fine. The Slice is quite small so convenient enough for your pocket or purse. Ideal for those that open lots of packages or don't like using a knife.

Ich war wirklich positiv überrascht, wie gut dieser kleine Cutter schneidet. Trotz der kompakten Größe geht er mühelos durch Karton, Folie und andere Verpackungen – und das deutlich sicherer als herkömmliche Cutter. Der automatische Klingenrückzug sorgt dafür, dass man ihn bedenkenlos in der Tasche oder Schublade aufbewahren kann. Dazu liegt er gut in der Hand und ist extrem praktisch für den Alltag, ob zu Hause oder im Büro. Für mich ein kleines Werkzeug mit großem Nutzen – klare Kaufempfehlung!

Très pratique pour ouvrir les colis, évite de prendre un couteau ou cutter et d’abîmer le contenu du colis si on va trop loin car petite lame en céramique. Coupe très bien. Déjà bien utilisé. Je m’en sert également pour découper du ruban adhésif pour fermer les colis. Lame rétractable pour plus de sécurité et petit format ultra pratique.
