Perfect for guitars
I have been using the Boveda 49% Humidity Packs for years in all of my acoustic and electric guitars. They are super easy to use. There is no muss, no fuss as the gel liquid is in sealed the packets. I live in the NE so with the heat on in the winter it can be very dry (low humidity) and without a/c the summers get pretty sticky (high humidity). These packs do a pretty good job regulating the humidity in the case. I use the Boveda Double holders which holds two humidity packs and put one double holder over the strings and hang it into the sound hole of my acoustics and one double holder with two packs under the headstock. The inside of the case stays between 45% and 55% which is ideal. I do the same for my electrics but I only use one double under the headstock. I found this is enough to keep the fretboard hydrated and prevent fret sprout. I find that I am getting 8-12 months of use out of the packs using them the way I do once they are opened. I buy in bulk and store the unused, unopened packets in heavy duty zip lock bags. Never had a problem doing this even if they are stored for a year.

Great Humidifier for Ukuleles
I use 49% RH Boveda Packs to keep my wooden tenor ukuleles humidified when the RH gets below 42% in the Winter. Especially when the furnace is running. The humidity often gets below 18% RH here in Wisconsin. They are great. Absorb moisture and releases it to keep a pretty constant level in my ukulele cases. Some cases require that I place a pack in the body of the uke, others that are more airtight, I keep one above the heel. I also place an older, rejuvenated pack under the headstock. I strongly recommend that you use these in a Boveda Sleeve. It prevents the pack from coming in contact with the finish or wood of the instrument. In the very remote chance that a pack gets damp it also protects the wood. (Out of 400+ packs over the years, I've only had one get a damp spot. Back when they used a crystalline absorption material that I squeezed too hard and it punctured the inner envelope. They now use a plant-based material.) The sleeve also helps provide a more uniform release of moisture. Smaller ukes may require a different placement in the case. Larger baris may need two. Boveda recommends hanging two packs over the strings and into the body. With a third in the headstock part of the case. Great product. Low maintenance.

Great product, lame shipping prep.
These have kept my hand-built guitars in great shape, despite wild humidity swings in the house. Three, placed in different spots on/in the guitar and case does the trick. Unfortunately, Amazon's "throw it in a bag" packaging meant the Boveda storage box was destroyed in shipping. Good thing each Boveda is sealed in its own plastic!

Used to store puerh teas, carries no odor.
Unlike grains, seeds, coffee or mayonuaha, puerh tea is a living material. It ages and improves for years and even decades. If it is left in contact with the tiniest bit of odor, it will absorb it and return it all during drinking. Thankfully, the Boveda is absolutely odor-free and perfectly suitable for tea aging. This has been verified not just by me, but also by a whole community of tea collectors over the years. If you’re new to aging tea, keep reading. Green tea should be drunk within two months of opening. Any later and it develops harmful toxins. Oolongs are more processed and should be drunk within about a year or so. Oolongs do not usually develop toxins but do deteriorate and should be kept in sealed original packaging. Puerhs (especially sheng puerhs) and white teas are minimally processed, intentionally. They still contain live enzymes, live of bacteria and live yeasts. This is why some of the best stuff comes from forests. It also means that aging requires a certain humidity level. Bacteria and yeasts do not have legs. They do not spread under 71% relative humidity. Under this threshold, they will work in moderation and in sync with the enzymes. Above this threshold, they will spread and overpower the tea with earthy, woody, mushroomy and sometimes metallic or pungent aromas and flavors. Most people are into the lighter fruity and floral flavors that you only get under 71% relative humidity. So make sure you know what you are going for, if you’re using Boveda humidity packs to age your tea. Keep in mind that your cake or tong is probably around 50% rel. humidity by the time it reaches you. Its humidity will average out with this pack. You will be well under 71%. There’s really no difference between say 55% and 70% for ageing. All the enzymatic, bacterial and fungal processes probably work at a constant rate. 50% rel. humidity is probably too low and may halt aging altogether. The tea will still lose its youthful flowery tones, but without gaining the smooth and deep texture of aged tea. I use the 49% pack to bring down teas previously stored above 70%. It’s also important to always stay above 68°F (ideally 70-80°F), and absolutely imperative to avoid exposure to light. I use large steel canisters, which I thoroughly clean and bake in an oven at 500°F, before use. They come covered in oil residue from production that cannot be cleaned by household cleaning agents. This residue get burnt off together with its odor and easily wiped with a neutral cotton towel afterwards. I clean and wipe the silicone rubber seal ardently. My steel canisters are each filled densely with teas of similar character. They contain no paper other than production wrappers and no synthetic packaging. I store them in a warm bedroom without unpleasant smells.

Simple and care-free
I cannot say enough good things about Boveda packs. I use them in my humidor and in all my instrument cases. Such an easy and inexpensive solution. Lasts a long time (I live in a very dry climate), and for the price it's totally worth the ease of use. I also like that I can toss them and them seem to be pretty environmentally friendly (paper and salt). As far as accuracy, I can tell you they keep to the humidity they advertise whenever I've checked it.

This is the second time this particular BOVEDA multi-pack which has been defective. Says 49% - delivers 60%. The company selling these clearly have defective stock - AVOID
