MK420 42-Inch Lawn Mower Blade Mulching Kit

They work for my Ariens lawn tractor.

Received the shipment very rapidly without any concerns there. Blades were sharp and easy to install - with instructions included. It fit's nicely. In my opinion, having a mulching blade is a must have if you have a riding lawn mower. Not only does it cut down on the time to bag and dispose of clippings, the small pulverized clippings provide about 50% of the fertilizer needs of the lawn each year. My lawn and my neighbors lawn went in at the same time and we water them the same. Mine is a dark green and richer lawn. His is more yellow and stays green for less of the year. He's now switching to mulching blade.

The first think I noticed was these items fit a Husqvarna lawn tractor but are not Husqvarna brand which is what I thought I was buying. The plug that blocks the side discharge fits adequately but needs a bit of pushing and pulling to make it fit tight. Don't know if the brand name would do the same or not since I don't have one. I actually haven't used the blades yet due to my mower being brand new and seem to work fine. These blades look like there is more surface area to cut the grass blades so should work as well or better.

LOVE THE MULCH KIT Cover went on easy and blades are great, came pre sharpened simple plug and play. Just mowed the first time this year and it looks AWESOME! PRICE FOR THE KIT WAS GREAT AS WELL.

It is a mulch kit and works just like you would expect,and fits just perfect. This item is not made by Husqvarna,(I don't think it matters who makes it as long as it works and is well made,and it seems to be). What I thought was most important to say is that it fits a lot more than Husqvarna.It also fits Craftsman 42 inch decks which is what I own. After trying to get it from sears and waiting a week only to be told they had no idea when it would arrive. I did some research and found that the model numbers of my tractor (LT2000 model#917.289073) matched the Husquvarna. This kit is the same as Sears part number 33742. Last thing I would say is that I needed this by a certain date and with Sears failing to deliver, Amazon with there great shipping delivered as promised in less than 24 hours of ordering it and allowing me to have it on the day i needed it!

After doing alot of research I finaly found what appeared to be the correct mulching kit. After receiving the kit i was very disappointed to see that the mulch kit did not come in a Husqvarna box but an Electrolux box and kit is noting at all what it looks like in the picture. apparently Sears decided to superseed one part number with another not even checking to see if it is a safe and effective fit. At this point I am glad i didn't try the new blades, who knows what would've happened.

I have an older model Craftsman LTX-1000 lawn tractor with a 42 inch deck. This model was apparently made by Husqvarna. It already is set up for mulching with a very similar shield. However parts of the shield are damaged and one of the rubber straps that holds it in place is missing. I thought that this shield would fit. It is close -- the old and new shield clearly share most of the same design, but everything is a little off. The new shield is too high and also does not extend laterally far enough to meet the mower deck. Therefore, there is a gap about a foot long and an inch wide between the deck and the shield. I suspect that the mower deck/ shield was redesigned sometime between the time we bought the tractor and the time this was made. We have jury rigged the new shield in place and it sorta works. I am not sure if I will continue to use this or go back to the older partially functional unit. Incidentally, the box is label "Electrolux" not Husqvarna. I assume that Electrolux also sells a mower made by Husqvarna? But the contents of the box are clearly exactly the same as the illustrations at Amazon, so I am sure the wrong part was not shipped in error. and I thought that this would fit. It I bought this mostly for the mulching discharge shield, but also figured I would get an extra set of mulching blades.

All this fit exactly on my Husqvarna 42-in mower deck. Good quality stuff (too) so far after a hard season. I live in a moderately dusty soil area so mowing with an open chute exhaust sometimes is downright hazardous to breathe in while cutting; I noticed a mulch kit helps reduce that and I'm a fan of putting grass back down on the ground to pack the lawn more to build up my bare spots to help keep moisture in the ground. I recommend this and the seller.
