Easy to use, decent audio quality for general, utility WAV recording. Instructions are written in simple, everyday English, not technical lingo. There is an initial charging period and set-up process, so read the instructions fully before you use the recorder. Recorder is well suited for Microsoft software. It works well on a Mac, too, just skip the SetTime process. Mac time-stamps the file automatically anyway, no problem. You may need the VLC audio program which is a simple download. The db9PRO website offers a link. Included are two lanyards you can attach to the device if you choose. One has a metal split ring which I can only imagine would produce unwanted noise when recording. db9PRO also serves as a thumb drive allowing you to store and transport other file formats. The audio is clear, but picks up background noice. As a WAV file, you can process and edit it in an audio editing program. The on-off switch on the end is small, but clicks on and off with little effort. One feature the developers might consider adding is an alligator clip so it can be secured in a pocket or on a notebook.

Awesome! .....most simple operation : just flip the switch to ON - and recording starts, and flip to OFF to stop. Recording is exceptionally clear, and it records for hours. If you can hear it - it will record it. Looks like a regular USB Drive - so even if I place it on the conference table during meeting - no one even gets a hint that this is a recorder recording the entire conversation. No charger required - just plug into the USB port of your laptop or desktop (or any other USB port - like in your car) - and it charges. The charge lasts for weeks, and you can record for many hours with one charge.

Before anything else, I want to say how impresssed I am with this little device. It has an incredibly sensitive microphone that can clearly record across the room and even from inside a book bag. While This devicece is not for professional quality recording as it leaves a hiss on recordings. It should be noted that the hiss can be greatly reduced by using the free software audacity in PST edit and the instructions on how to do this can be found in The ebooks that are included. That being said, it has a fantastic range and as long as it is not brushing against anything, it will pick up any voice in the room.To simulate recording notes at a meeting or a lecture (probably the most appropriate application) I recorded while holding the device, while it sat on a desk, and even inside my zipped book bag and all all produced easy to hear and understand audio.The interface was pretty foolproof albeit limited in functionality. The last star was withheld because of the hissing in the background of the recordings. Just the same it really is a very impressive little device.

If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. I've only used it once so far, and it was worth every penny. I don't know how much placement matters, but I had put mine in the mesh outer pocket of a backpack. It looks just like a thumb drive (well, it is a thumb drive, too) and has no distinguishing marks to imply that it could be recording; it's amazingly stealthy. The audio is clear, and the recording went on for hours. A+ great product.Pros:1) It's all black, so even the power button blends in enough that you can't tell it's there unless you're up close2) The cap pops off just like a normal USB drive; if you didn't see the power button you'd never know it was anything else3) The light for recording comes on just long enough for you to know it's recording, and then goes dark while it continues to record4) It's small and the logo on the side has no indication that it's anything special5) Although I didn't test its durability, it seemed like pretty strong plastic and not fragile at allCons:1) You have to switch it off before plugging it in as a USB drive (per the manual, I didn't test this.)- This makes sense, since you're reading the files it would be trying to write if it were still on, but it'd be nice if there was a separate space so that you could have it plugged into your computer looking ever-so innocent as it records.2) It creates one giant .wav file for the duration it's turned on (starting a new one after it's turned off and back on again.)- Again, this makes sense, but it'd be extra cool if it recording things in some sort of interval to keep the file sizes down. Maybe an hour at a time.3) So, I guess there's not really any cons I can think of; just features I'd like to see.4) Oh, I thought of one. Make sure it's legal in your state to record conversations. Many states are two-party consent states, meaning everyone in the conversation has to know it's being recorded, otherwise it's illegal. In one-party states, only you need to know it's recording if you're part of the conversation. This is relevant because if you're intending to use this against someone in a legal setting, it will get you into a heap of trouble. (Or if they find out you even recorded something, you could be in trouble.)

At first, this recorder is good in recording clear voice, the quality of recording matches this price. After several months of use, the recorder stops recording and won't recharge. Tries to contact the seller, but receive no feedback in four days. DO NOT BUY THIS because this seller does not provide any customer service.

Charging light is not always accurate. Can't be sure it is working by light indications.
