Critic's choice pen
This is the Wirecutter's choice for disposable pen, and for good reason. It's not fancy, but it has a smooth-flowing quick-drying low-smudge wash-resistant ink, and just enough surface grip to keep the point on the page and avoid careless or messy strokes. The ergonomic textured grip runs the full length of the pen, the weight feels solid without being effortful to wield, and the mechanism gives a sturdy and satisfying click. Hype pushed these to $4/ea but currently at $3/ea they are a good value.

I thought it was over hyped. I was wrong.
I keep a click on my shirt pocket at all times and rely on them - along with a pad of sticky notes. This has been part of my workflow for more than 30 years. I've grown increasingly frustrated with the smearing and blobbing from the different pens I've tried, so on a recommendation from Wirecutter I got a pack of Uniball pens. Best pen I've ever used for less than $50. Smooth flow, clean lines, no smearing. Period. Can't recommend them enough.

It's a fine pen. Best ever? Who knows?
I read a review of this pen in Wirecutter that made it sound like this pen could save the world. I really like the pen and am giving it a 5 because there are no problems with it - it absolutely does what it is supposed to do. But somehow the Platonic Ideal of a pen would have something ... extra. I don't know what, but more. Maybe a touch pad stylus on top. Maybe a way to get blue without getting red and black at the same time. Fortunately my young adult grands like red and black, and read the same Wirecutter article, so they were happy too. So. It's a fine pen, I like it swell and have nothing bad to say about it. Just can't rave about it being the finest of all possible fine pens in the known universe.

Amazing pens
The ink is crazy smooth. Every now and then, it will get some skips, but not often.I prefer fine point for note-taking in college, and I really appreciate how the Jetstream doesn't even try to bleed through the page. I can write on front and back, and not have to squint when I go over notes later, unlike the Pilot G2 pens which tend to show through notebook paper. Not this pen, or not much. Now I can write on the back of my paper with impunity, rather than squinting or wasting paper.Fun note: When I first got these pens, I took the black and red pens for my school work and reluctantly gave my husband the blue pen, since it's his favorite color and he's a pen freak, like me. One morning I wanted to jot down some info while on the phone at home, and absently reached for the nearest pen, the Jetstream on his desk. Before I could touch it, he yelled, "Not my Jetstream!" He's never done that about any of his other pens. Or, heck, anything. Now we play a game of my trying to steal his Jetstream, while he gets crabby about it.I dread these pens ever going off the market. The hubby might cry if they did.

Self-professed pen snob is delighted
I am a pen snob. Period. I'm picky AF about what I will use, and select a pen based on what I'm writing and my mood that day. Hey - I'm a delightful person - and pretty easy-going on most things - but don't F with my pens... OK? :)I have found some gel pens that really brought a smile to my face, but in the ball-point category, I was disappointed time and time again. Finding something that provided a nice line, smooth writing experience, that didn't end up leaking, and was comfortable to hold seemed like an impossible task - until I found these. I'm in love. I immediately purchased more for my brother-in-law and a friend - who also have this pen-related illness - and they were equally impressed. It is all the 3 of us use now - and we hide them from colleagues and family members. These belong in the hands of those who appreciate them - the rest? Let them have Bic. I said what I said. No judgment, please. :) You'll be happy with this purchase.

Fantastic for Lefties
If you do not already own any Uni-Ball Jetstream pens, you are doing yourself a disservice by not buying these this instant (or the colorless pack). As a left-handed person, I have a lot of difficulty finding pens that will write left-handed, and also not smear. There is something about the pushing action that causes many, many pens to not write left-handed. The other great thing about these pens is how quickly the ink dries. Lots of pens take a while for the ink to dry; this is fine for right-handed people, since the ink can dry while the writer leaves those letters alone and continues to write. However, I always struggle with smearing ink. One problem is that the ink gets smeared all over the page, which tends to look extremely unprofessional. The rest of the ink ends up on your hand, which just looks gross. The fast-drying ink of the Jetstream solves this problem, drying in usually less than one second. Lastly, I got everybody in my family a set of these for Christmas, and my brother compared the smoothness of writing to a fountain pen.One caveat that I will add: I have noticed an odd phenomenon that a new pen will stop writing consistently after about two pages of writing. What I generally do in this case is switch to a different Jetstream I have. After the new pen sits in timeout for the rest of the night, I have nary an issue afterwards. Just another reason to buy multiple packs.I honestly cannot recommend these highly enough, especially for lefties, but righties will also reap the benefit of smooth writing action and nearly nonexistent ink bleed.

Love these pens!
I love the Uniball Jetstream pen! The weight of the pen is just right, not too light or heavy, and I feel like I have good control of the pen while writing. The ink flow is smooth, not "skritchy" - writing feels effortless. When I let others borrow them, I never seem to get them back! LOL
