Memory Stick Micro (M2) 8GB

I think the review of this card by Mr Plonis is unfair and hope he will amend it. I bought the 8GB card for my SE k800i phone. I was a little worried after reading his review but it was such a good price and the other comment here made me think it would be OK. In fact when I installed the card the phone only registered it as having approx 3.5GB and I panicked a little. I then viewed the card through the USB connection between the phone and my computer and could then see it as an 8GB card. So no problem with the card then! A bit of research on the web confirmed my suspicion that it was the phone to blame rather than the memory card. I think I can upgrade the firmware for the phone and so will give that a try. It is wrong to blame the memory supplier for the way in which the phone is configured. The SE web site does say that 4GB is the maximum card size supported for the k800i phone at the time it was first released. I have read elsewhere that people have the phone working with the 8GB card after upgrading to firmware version R1JG001. The memory card arrived swiftly and was well packaged. It also had an adaptor for to allow it to fit in some previous Sony proprietary card slot. I do wish Sony would use standard SD cards.

I got everything I expected when I ordered this. I ordered late on Monday, it arrived first thing Wednesday., well packaged in all original packaging and with an invoice/delivery note. I bought this to use with my SE C902, after checking the maximum memory stick capacity that my phone could take on SE website, which is 8gb. I'm sure most others are using the card for the same, for me it is for storing music, as one other reviewer said, who needs a walkman (or other poplular branded music player for that matter ;-) if you can use this? The transfer rate is excellent - I'm using this in place of an 8gb MP3 player that I have had enough of by another respected manufacturer that takes twice as long to transfer songs between PC and phone. for example to transfer between PC and phone with memory stick in it, an album with 15 songs, at MP3 best quality, it is taking me all of 1 minute. And finally, the memory card does come with an adaptor so that I can put it straight into the reader in my PC, should I not need it for a SE phone in the future it can be used for other purposes - I found this when Sandisk first started doing cards that weren't standard SD size, and they came with an adapter - at least I can use them for something else when I'm done with them if the next phone I get doesn't happen to be an SE one! Good service all round, and good product!

This Product is pretty standard now days and it does exactly what it says on the tin, it holds memory without the time consuming waiting it holds just under 8 GBs which is plenty for anybody with a big collection of music and photos, it will hold a fair few videos obviously depending on the quality and size, great product!!!!

Ordered this for my Sony Ericsson W90i phone. I prefer storing and listening to my music as the sony erricson has unique sound! This is definitely value for money! Compared to High street prices this is an absolute must. Works well stores my music. Only issue i have is that this sometimes freezes so not sure if it is caused by the phone or the memory card but all I have to do is restart the phone it its good to go! a must if you want to save!

Used on my psp go for extra game storage. Very rare memory card quality is great for 2nd user.

I would have given this 5 stars if it was in the ( new packaging ) but the memory stick was in a plain plastic bag so not sure if the item was new as stated but the item seems to work O K.

Very good product

For some strange reason Sony have stayed the course with their version of memory. Its not Transflash , instead its M2. Make sure you get that right one and pay a bit more for it. The card fits perfectly and I have uploaded most of my music collection to my W715 mobile phone. The phone (W means Walkman) has a walkman interface which I am proud to display and is easy to use. The phone supports 8Gb cards so everything works well.

Ich habe die 8GB Speicherkarte nun seit 2 Wochen und verwende sie in meiner Sony PSP (PHAT). (Zusätzlicher Adapter auf Pro DUO notwendig!) Die vom Hersteller angegeben Geschwindigkeiten werden übrigens problemlos erreicht. Meine Messwerte (Herstellerangaben): Lesen - 11,19 MB/s (10 MB/s) Schreiben - 3,17 MB/s ( 3 MB/s) Auch gibt der Hersteller SanDisk an, dass er seine 8GB nicht mit dem binären sondern mit dem decimalen System berechnet. Daher zeigt das Betriebssystem nur 7,44GB statt 8GB an.

I bought this for mine or my wife's phone, I can't remember. Anyways, it was affordable, it works, and it gives you a lot of memory. Just assess what your needs are, if you want to store lots of applications/ music on your phone then get yourself a lot of memory, otherwise, you can spend less and get less memory. I have used SanDisk memory cards for awhile, they have always worked well so I continue to buy their products. In general, I think it doesn't matter all that much which company you choose to buy memory cards from; it's like buying bottled water, they are all the same, so whatever gives you piece of mind, stick with that one.
