Top-tier smart lighting and proper easy to install!
I’m right chuffed with these Tapo GU10 bulbs. I got them to smarten up the spotlights, and the build quality is spot on—they feel solid and well-made, not like some of the cheap "no-name" versions you see online. Performance: The vibrant colours are amazing; you’ve got 16 million options, so you can set the mood exactly how you want it. They’re highly responsive with the app, and I haven't had any lag issues at all. Smart Setup: Like my other gear, I’m not techy, but these were seamless to install. I had them both synced up in less than 30 minutes. Reliable Connection: I’ve put them on their own 2.4GHz IoT network, and the connection is rock solid. They haven't dropped out once, even when I'm controlling them through Alexa. Value for Money: Since they don’t require a hub, they’re a much more cost-effective way to get smart lighting without extra clutter or hidden costs. Verdict: A reliable, versatile, and energy-efficient choice. If you want a premium experience without the premium price tag, these are highly recommended!

Great cheap coloured GU10 alternative
Super straight forward to set up, great value compared to say, HUE. They fit fine, link fine with google home. They are finicky connecting to the WiFi again after an outage but some off and on again always sorts it out. The colour recreation is good, they have a great range of brightness and I haven't noticed a change in my electricity bills from using normal LED bulbs so must be energy efficient enough despite always being "on".

A bit fiddly but good once work
A bit fiddly and cannot get 1 of the bulbs to connect. Luckily I only need 3. Nice bright light which can be dimmed and strong colours too. Can also work with Alexa which is a bonus

Buying all all my smart plugs and lights from Tapo now. Brilliant, works perfectly.

Reliable and easy to connect, all at a reasonable price
The Tapo bulbs have proven to be 100% reliable so far, despite being on the edge of WIFI coverage. They were purchased to replace smart bulbs from a different brand which, even with a WIFI extender, were proving to be unreliable and were not turning on and off as scheduled. No such issues with the Tapo bulbs, they haven't missed a beat so far, haven't required the WIFI extender to be used, and were very simple to connect using the Tapo app. Once set up, they were also recognised within the Alexa, Kasa and Google Home apps, and can be controlled using any of these. My only criticism would be they are not as quite as bright as the ones they replaced. At 3.7W rather than 5W, they are naturally a bit dimmer and the cool white colour isn't quite as 'white' as others I've used with a very slight pinkish hue. However, all things considered, they are excellent bulbs for the price and have been very satisfied with their performance.

Stopped working after two years
Once you have the app downloaded and get your head around the instructions these bulbs are relatively straightforward to install. There is a good range of colour and you can set them up on a schedule. However, that's about it in terms of positives. The bulbs are expensive compared to some competitors but I chose these because this a reputable brand in the hope that they would be better quality. Sadly, having used other brands of smart bulbs I can say that's not the case. The app is not at all intuitive, especially compared to other brands like feit and govee. Setting up a schedule wasn't too bad but if you want several bulbs to behave in the same way, particularly in the same colour then good luck. Picking a colour from a colour wheel and then trying to replicate that x times the number of bulbs you buy isn't fun. Installing multiple bulbs in one fitting or on the same circuit is difficult because you have to turn the light switch on and off several times to put the bulb in ready mode, which can also reset the bulb you have already set up. If you have an issue with a bulb going offline (which happened several times) then you can't soft reset or factory reset one without doing all that are powered by the same switch. Not that I found either a soft reset or a factory reset to work at all. After just over two years, four out of ten bulbs have stopped working, either flickering constantly, being constantly on or just not being recognised at all by the app. Nothing I tried worked to resolve this and tapo support had no further suggestions and washed their hands of it as they are just outside of the warranty period. Now, I bought these to replace non smart bulbs in outdoor lights that we had to manually turn on and off. Often we'd forget and leave them on all day, so I figured that spending £100 or so on 10 bulbs was going to save money in the long term considering an expected longevity of maybe 7 years plus. However now I am having to replace them after 2 years, they are looking less like a good investment and the issues I've had with them seem less forgiveable.

Fantastic bulbs
I just love these bulbs. Really easy to connect to your WiFi and to change colour settings all the app. I have 4 in my hall. You can set them individually or as a group and it remembers when switched off at the wall. Transformed my hall with a nice dimmed warm light but you can have any colour at all. Bargain price as well really

Decent Bulbs
Easy to setup and use, they’re actually pretty decent bulbs, they could be brighter for certain colours but it’s not a big issue, they connected straight away and I’ve not had any issues with them so far, I’ve got them linked up to my Home Assistant setup.
