Great review
Really good and clear image, you can see details of flying planes, clear view of birds and see so many stars you can't see without. The moon also looks so big and clear. The only downside is that it's probably on the edge of max zoom possible for hands only use - it would be nice to have stabilization of some sort, but hey..Oh yeah and the covers are very flimsy.

Nikon quality binoculars
Totally impressed with these. Look feel and are great. Bit big bit heavy but you know what your getting into with porro prisms at this magnification.

crystal clear image
These are fantastic binos, the images are clear exept the slight chromatic aberration with very high contrast objects. the only problem i had was a slight lump of rubber which just makes it look worse. the 12x50 are also reasonably easy to hold still and are sutable for birding, great value for money.

Very good Binoculars
These are decent value for money very sharp in the central image, a nice smooth focus wheel a little bit slow but nothing I can't handle lol and nice and bright. Can't fault them for the money I payed would recommend 🙂

Easy to use
Bought these for bird watching and have gone up in magnification from 12 x 42 to these and the difference is amazing

Solid product.
These are good all-round solid construction except for the flimsy optic protectors ( come on Nikon ) these I would expecton something I got from the pound shop not on big name brand like Nikon easy to use and excellent clean images when zoomed to full range.

Brilliant
Value for money clear range very good. The only down side is the protective caps keep falling off. And the weight. But other than that for first time they are very good.

Just about OK in daylight, poor at night
I had a pair of the Nikon Aculon 12x50's at the same time as the 10x50's with the primary purpose of getting into astronomy and also for a bit of birding as and I am out in the countryside so could do some in depth side by side testing of the two slightly different magnifications. To be honest I wanted to like the 12's more - I thought the extra magnification would be useful but in the end it wasn't even close, the 10's won by a country mile.In daylight the 12's are ok but the image is a little soft and suffers from very noticeable chromatic aberration off centre (I will now refer to this as CA and it shows itself as a purple fringe or 'glow' around high contract edges - say a TV aerial against the sky or the edge of a star against the night sky). This is very off putting and detracts from the overall image quality (IQ).Things are much worse at night. I just could not get a sharp image with them, the CA was very off-putting and the smaller exit pupil compared to the 10's meant everything was on the dark side.Star clusters that were popping out on me with the 10's were sometimes barely discernible with the 12's and the narrower field of view meant less could be seen in any one view. To be fair as well for astronomical use the extra magnification on offer with the 12's is marginal anyway and given the limited light gathering of the 12's I would say they are somewhat behind the 10'sPluses? Build quality is as you would expect from Nikon and the supplied carry case and neck strap are very good. The lens coatings are effective at keeping down unwanted reflections (but not the CA unfortunately). To sum up if you need the (slightly) extra reach of a 12x lens and what a solidly built pair of binoculars for daytime use the Nikons are OK - nothing more, nothing less but I would suggest looking at alternatives also. For astronomy avoid these and look at the 10's - much much better or if you want extra reach look at something like the Celestron Skymaster 15x70's.
