Howo big are the actual S binder?

Approximately 1 1/4 " in length, 5/16 " in width . . . perfect for my needs. This is a great way to buy S binders of this size, which I have not used as key rings so far.

Those plastic S-Biners suck. Are these metal ones better? The plastic ones break easily & keys would escape all the time!! Is this spring stronger?

Absolutely, I really like the metal ones. I have one holding my dog tag shaped thumbdrive on 550 cord around my neck. I take showers with it and sleep with it on my neck all the time. It holds strong and stays intact. It works wonderfully. I also have one holding on to keys in my pocket and it works great too. I hope this helps with your decision. Have a great day.

Actually they are a size .5 (1/2) and are only available on 2 different key rings. I have a bunch and they are awesome for attaching almost anything to anything. I have them hanging on my kayak, canoe and various backacks. There are also a couple on my keychain.
