Controlling light by using ND filters is a very useful option for video and still photography. This NEEWER 4 stop filter is made from high quality optical glass and has multi coating on both sides. At 4mm thickness it is a very good fit in the (4 x 5.65) filter frames of mini matte boxes and the larger matte boxes. I have tried using it with both and have not experienced any light leakage and have been able to shoot with a very shallow depth of field using apertures as wide as f/1.2 on bright days.Image quality for stills and video has not been reduced while using this filter and exposure has been well balanced while shooting in a a variety of lighting situations. I have not noticed any colour cast or darkening at the outer frame edges of either stills or video. At 4 stops light reduction using this filter can certainly help facilitate some creative long exposure still images providing the ambient is not too bright.It arrived very well packaged and includes a protective case and cleaning cloth. Having used this filter for a few weeks I am delighted with it and the quality of the images and video I have captured while using it. Considering the cost of good quality filters of this type I have no hesitation in recommending this filter as I believe it to be very well made for the price.

This particular filter fits the smallrig matte box perfectly and as far as I can tell it's a genuine four stops of neutral density.I haven't used it a great deal at the moment but in testing I'm not noticing any massive colour shift when using this filter.It comes with a nice case and it feels, exactly as you would expect from this brand

When shooting outdoors in bright light an ND filter is an essential bit of equipment to keep shutter speeds low using wide apertures. Neewer are well known for making good quality photography equipment that is affordable and won’t break the bank.Measuring 4 inches x 5.65 inches The Neewer square ND filter isn’t really square at all however it will fit perfectly in the Tilta SmallRig matte box. At 4mm in thickness it is also a slimline ND filter that keeps the weight down to a mere 147g.This 4 stop ND filter has an oil resistant, water resistant and scratch proof coating to protect it. I can confirm water does not affect this filter however I cannot comment on the oil resistance of this filter nor the scratch resistance since I have not attempted to test these claims. All I can say is that this filter feels tough, durable and more than capable of dealing with what I throw at it. The quality of the Neewer 4 stop ND filter is superb, especially at this price point.One of the biggest potential problems with ND filters is vignetting/darkening of the corners and colour casts. Where there is minor vignetting and/or weak colour casts a photo or video editing suite will often rectify the issues. Where there is strong vignetting or strong colour casts, and this can happen, editing software doesn’t work and the images/footage is unusable. I have not had any issues with either vignetting or colour casts using this Neewer 4 stop ND filter.The Neewer 4 stop ND filter is supplied with a soft fluff lined, slightly oversized pouch for travel and storage. Some kind of case is essential to protect ND filters and when you’re dealing with an ND filter as niche as this there isn’t an abundance of third party options therefore this case is a welcome accessory.The filter size and strength is etched at the bottom of the filter however how long this is going to be legible is anyone’s guess. I have made my own label and attached it to the filter case so when the size and strength on the bottom of the filter wears off I will still know what type of filter it is. The label on the outside of the case also means I can identify the type of filter without having to take it out of its case.If you want a 4 stop ND filter with no colour cast or vignetting issues, is well made and good quality, and also affordable this Neewer 4 stop ND filter is one that is worth a second look.Disclaimer: I am privileged enough to be part of the Amazon Vine program and as such I have the opportunity request products that I would find useful/potentially buy to road test in exchange for an honest review. This is a really well made ND 1.2 filter provding 4 Stops suitable for use with matte boxes great for slow shutter speeds and wide apertures, necessary for outdoor bright-light photography.The filter has a dimension of 10.16 by 14.35cm and has the ability to control shutter speed and aperture, which avoids overexposure and helps to balance image exposure. It is made of HD optical glass and is not necessarily screwed directly onto the lens. Aside from that, it blocks four stops of light from entering the camera lens and features 6.25% light transmittance. The filter has multiple layers of nanocoatings on both sides making it scratch-resistant, water-repellent, oil proof and fingerprint-resistant.This has been a great filter to test since I also own the complete set of a well-known brand. These are surprisingly similar in terms of quality and optics but cost less than half as much. They are also made of optical glass, which is very well made and does not introduce any colour cast at all. Although I can attest that this filter is unaffected by water, I am unable to comment on the filter's resistance to oil or scratches because I haven't tried to put these claims to the test.All in all, I can say that this filter feels sturdy, and more than up to handling whatever I throw at it. Particularly for the price, the Neewer 4-stop ND 1.2 filter is excellent quality.

Item arrived very well packed, very reasonably priced and is excellent quality & the perfect size and great value, doesn’t feel / look cheap either very impressed indeed huge 10 out of 10 from me ✔️✔️✔️

This filter comes snugly inside a smart soft pouch which has a magnetic flap sealing it; the pouch has a label on top specifying the ND strength which will come in handy if you decide to get more edition this filter range.As for the quality, this filter is made from tough glass and really does feel of a high quality.Fits perfectly with the 'SmallRig Matte Box Mini'.
