I would urge anyone to fit new, or old boxes with these plates, after witnessing a woodpecker eat out a hole, widening it enough to remove all the baby blue tits. Despite our best efforts in protecting them, the woodpecker was determined. So now all our boxes are fitted with these, and the trauma of that first incident has not been repeated. It’s was too late for me to put a metal plate up, as book recommended , so I’m not going to make that mistake again. I buy both sizes, and know I’ve done my best.

Easy to put on and will hopefully stop birds from trying to get in and kill our little blue tits . The entrance around our new blue tit box was bashed to pieces by a woodpecker . This will hopefully stop it .

Yes a good product to stop the woodpecker from making the hole bigger but it didn’t stop them from attacking the box see photo’s so going to put some form of rubber on my others, easy to put on

Finished the box off to make it look more professional as it it is going to be a gift.Very reasonable price

I was expecting 2 plates but only got one so quite expensive.As another reviewer said, one side of the hole is razor sharp. Easily smoothed with a bit of wire wool but not suitable for use as sold.

Simple product, took seconds to fit, should help protect baby birds from predation by magpies, woodpeckers and squirrels next year.

Our nest box with family of blue tits was being raided by sparrows! One dead baby thrown out so ordered these to fix on. They arrived next day and we fixed it on and job done. The blue tots are continuing to feed the rest of their family!!

Arrived on time and easy to fit, lets hope it works
