Good value, but improvements could benefit this kit
The supplied kit was a comprehensive set of of items that with the use of some standard tools would allow a caravan satellite system be deployed on site. The kit uses good quality equipment and is at a good price. However some improvements are possible. The supplied documentation is poor but adequate if you have installed satellite systems before. It would be daunting if you have no experience of this. Other than this there are a number of small improvements that could improve the experience of putting the system together.1. You have to self-tap the supplied crimptite screws through the dish reflector into the antenna bracket. I found this almost impossible with a standard screwdriver. Pre-tapping the brackets would have been very useful and not particularly difficult with standard sized screws. Otherwise you will have to find some way of improving the torque - e.g. a power drill used at a very slow speed…2. The supplied cable and its F connectors were not connected. This is not a particularly difficult task, but for the uninitiated at least, would have been helpful and supplying a connected up cable would not have been very costly…3. The supplied tripod was sturdy. However the key pole to which the bracket has to be clamped, was apparently missing. It took me some time to discover that it had been placed upside down in the body of the tripod concealed by the tightening collar. Some documentation here could have been helpful.4. No mention of weather proofing. Perhaps not necessary, but some rubber hoods for the outdoors connection of cable to LNBs could have been a partial solution. If the setup was more permanent, then caps for unused LNB outputs and a reference to silicone grease and self-amalgamating tape could have been a pointer to improving this aspect. Why was a wall mount bracket included? If you want a caravan kit you probably already have a dish mounted at home. The bracket seems mostly redundant. Omitting this item might lower the cost of the kit or allow some of the suggested improvements to be implemented. The old online videos referenced are helpful for dish alignment with the supplied signal strength meter. But perhaps an additional build video could also be added to help deal with some of the issues raised. Nevertheless, a good product and good value for the money. Let’s hope dish technology doesn’t completely disappear in the next few years.

WELL HAPPY
Was a bit concerned about ordering this and my ability to set it up but I need not have worried. Excellent piece of kit. Packing could be improved to avoid potentional damage but mine arrived all ok by Parcelforce. The tripod is very sturdy and the height can be easily adjusted to well over 5 foot, sorry not know exact height but has plenty of settings and a pin to secure it. With regards to setting up, I noticed that others said the instructions were basic to say the least however at the bottom of the single A4 page the is a web address for the supplier and I strongly suggest you use it.I am lucky I had sight of my Sky box and using the services button was able to see signal strength. My first mistake was I thought that the elevation of the dish should be pointing up at the sky but it should be virtually vertical and straight if this makes sense. Again the web site instructions give you all the info. The spirit level on the dish came in handy for ensuring accuracy. Be warned, when moving the dish left or right to get a good signal ensure you do it very little at a time. I found the sat finder useful but as I say I had visual with my TV and sat box. For your info as I think the web site says 1 o'clock on your watch represents 15 degrees so the elevation adjustment from the vertical is only around 5 degrees in UK .Summing up I am a very happy punter well pleased with this item wich is priced competitively and meets my needs but I do stress read the instructions on the web site first. Good luckAll in all

Nice little set up
Well packed which is good as boxes took a bit of a battering in transit but product was unharmed. Simple enough to set up for camper, I have scribbed the settings to help when away. Sturdy enough tripod, made a couple of adjustments to the fitting of dish to tripod but that was my choice, would work perfectly fine with fittings supplied. All in all a very good product for the price.

After a few manoeuvres I picked up a signal like the video said 28 east of south
Bought this for our caravan. Decided to test it out at home. Spent hours trying to get it to work with nothing. Googled & re-googled! Recut & attached the f connectors (which were included) again making sure to not have any of the outer wires touching the copper cable tightened them on using pliers & voila I got the power to the sat finder. After a few manoeuvres I picked up a signal like the video said 28 east of south. It came with a twin cable so it works with our sky + box & all features worked! It wasn't rocket science but took a bit of fiddling & the instructions are not the greatest. Set up the dish onto the tripod. Attach the shorter of the cables to the lnb & the sat finder. Take time to correctly attach the f connectors to both ends of the longer cable. Attach one end to back of sky box & the other to the sat finder. I dont think it matters which of the cables if it is twin cable. You know you are on the right track if the power runs from the sky box to the sat finder by it lighting up & buzzing. Fantastic. Now to try it out properly on our holidays! Fingers crossed.UPDATE - Took it to North Wales & The Lake District and it worked in both sites. Fantastic!

Good luck prior knowledge required.
Instructions to assemble this are not very clear. Had to workout how to assemble it myself. Regarding the satellite finder unfortunately I am not a tv engineer and have never fitted an Arial so I have no idea how it works I was swinging the dish a round like a spinning top to try to find it. Now I need to pay someone to do it for me and show me how it works for future use
