Great, bright, compact 18650 light, but
I've had this light for about 3 months now and this is a nicely finished, compact, very bright light that you can charge at home, in your car, or from a portable power bank thanks to the built-in USB charging port. It accepts any protected or unprotected 18650 cell, button top or flat top. I strongly suggest using the battery that it comes with or any high quality Samsung, Panasonic, Sanyo, Sony, or LG 18650 battery, and buy it from a reputable dealer. The UI is very simple and extremely easy to learn. You have three choices of brightness at turn on. Press and hold for about 1-1.5 seconds and you get a true firefly/moonlight mode. Or one quick press and you get your last used mode from memory (low, medium, or high). Or double press and go straight to turbo mode. Once the light is on, all you have to do to cycle thru the levels of low, medium, and high, is just press and hold the button. The light is small and very bright, so it will get hot! This happens to all small, high power flashlights. There's no way around that. Well there is, but you have to go with a less powerful light or get a much larger light that can dissipate the heat that's generated. Now here's the but. My only complaint with this light is that it has no electronic lock out. So if you carry it in your pocket or put it in a carry bag, you have to, or at least should, slightly unscrew the tail cap to be safe from accidental turn on. A few things I forgot to mention. For this being considered a cool white led, it's got no hint of blueish tint to it at all. It could just be my sample, but I'd call it a bright natural white at around 5700k. In a side by side comparison, there's hardly any discernable difference between this led and the high CRI Nichia 219C 5700k led's in my Convoy S12. Even the color rendition is excellent. Also, just an added bonus, my Convoy S12 (21700 battery), my Astrolux EC01 (21700 battery) and MF01 Mini (26650 battery), my Sofirn SP31 and SP32, and my Wowtac A1S all fit in the holster that is supplied with this light. And it's also supplied with one of the largest lanyards I've ever received with a light. I don't use them, but you can easily get your hand through this one, even if you have large hands.

Over a years worth of daily use plus comparison to brand new
I have had this light for over a year Its not perfect but for the price its a great light!!! The pictures are of low medium high and turbo the fence is 25 yards the wood shed is 50 yards the granary is 82 yards and the square piece of tin is at 120 yards. I can see better with my eye than you can see in the pictures. I can see fairly well out to 150 yards on turbo. You can see reflective objects further. I can see reflectors on liniator poles along the road for more than 600 yards. I have purchased 2 more of the thrunight tc15 and compared it side by side to the old one and the old is still just as bright it hasn't dimmed at all. The older one has more of a blue tint to it and the new ones have more of a yellow tint to them as shown in the picture. The lanyard feels excellent the packaging it comes in is extremely professional. It also comes with a sheath to carry it in. I had it fall out and so I don't trust the sheath. I pocket carried this light for a long time and now have made a leather sheath for it with my Leatherman. The first thing to do is cut the tab off of the rubber cap for the charging port (as shown in image) I found it would snag on my pocket and open it. So I cut it off and haven't had any issues since and its still easy to open. The batteries last a long time in just over a year of daily use I have only had to charge it like 3 times. It is the most useful thing I carry everyday. I love the memory setting the diffrent brightness levels. I find the firefly mode to be extremely useful. Its perfect for combination locks, reading, around horses, and anything you want to do without blinding yourself with how bright this flashlight can be.CONS:/WISHES: I really wish it had a two way clip to hook it on my hat when working in the dark. The button to turn it on and off can be hard to find. I index my clip so that it is exactly opposite of the button to help when trying to find it in the dark. While this helps it would be nicer to have a button on the back end.The sheathIt can be tricky to get it to go to strobe. I find it is 4 fast clicks not 3 as advertised. If you are still reading then you should just buy this light you won't regret it. I've now bought 3. Everyone I show it to has asked me where they can get one. For black Friday it drops to 44 bucks .

Excellent pocket flashlight
Has side switch, no tail button - thank you!Switch sequence is common sense - press on, press off. Long press while on, change brightness. Double click - full brightness. Triple click - strobe.Has a new feature - long press to turn on, get candlelight mode. Great for reading a map.Give it a quarter-twist unscrew - disconnects power, safe in pocket.USBC port on the side for charging. Not sure what I would change about this flashlight. Just great.
