Great Gift
Was a trick to put together, but the outcome was pretty good. Mounting it was also a bit of a trick, but eventually got it

Annoying to put together, but VERY nice final result.
THE GOOD: The instructions are pretty easy to follow. Only 2 types of easy fold, and then you just need to macth numbered edges together. Some sense of 3D orientation and finesse is required, but not that much. The provided double sided tape is super convenient and easy to use. No glue required! It is definitely time consuming though. This is my first 3D papercraft kit, and I was able to finish it around the advertised 8 hour. The final product is VERY nice and make interesting room decoration. Hanging is pretty simple with some nails.THE BAD: This kit has a lot of dark colored parts. And the manufacturer seems to only be able to print numbers and lines in black. That means good luck reading the numbers on dark papers (which is kind of important since that's half of the instructions). They had a note apologizing for this, but I didn't expect just how bad the issue is.It is bad enough for the red parts, but the numbers are almost completely illegible for black parts. This gets even trickier as you work through the project and some numbers are on the inside, making them even more difficult to make out.My tips for dealing with this are as followed: 1. Get a BRIGHT lamp/light and shine it DIRECTLY at the paper. With luck, the light reflection off the ink will give you an idea of the numbers. 2. Use a white pencil/pen and WRITE DOWN the numbers when you manage to make them out. You will need to constantly refer old parts/numbers, so you'll do your future self a favor.Making out the numbers and rewriting them basically make up about 30% of the time it took to put this together.OVERALL SUMMARY: Would be a fun project to put together if not for the one GLARING issue. However, the end result is worth it. I'll probably get another kit, but one without dark colored parts.
