Original Album Series

This album series by Chic was such a great find! I still have several of their original albums on vinyl. Like every generation, there is certain music that speaks to you in a very nostalgic way. It takes you back and brings certain times and memories to mind, that were special in life. Love it! Thank you, Amazon, for making it available!

Chic made GREAT music back in the late 70's and even today it sounds fresh and entertaining. I rediscovered some great songs like Sao Paulo or Sometimes You WIn which are even better than some of their single.What it's not that great is the mastering, specially on the three first albums, it sounds like some left left from the first pressings were put into this release. Rhino should take care of it in order to make justice with this great music.

........... Come On!!! It's CHIC 4 cryin' out loud... How can U go wrong with Bernard Edwards/Nile Rodgers... Just look at the numerous bands they've produced & that bass by Bernard and that guitar by Nile is unmistakeable genius........... Check out Nile's work on "Real People" (1980), my ABSOLUTE favorite Chic album... It is their 4th album (after "Chic", "C'est Chic", and "Risque", all four of which are included here... Another gr8 album of theirs, "Take It Off" is also included, however, "Believer", "Tongue In Chic", & "Chic-Ism", their final 3 albums, are not...........

I "love" Chic.I grew up listening to them as a child.I remember the disco era being in full swing.I had a Best of Chic cd a while ago.I saw this box set and I had to have it.The price was well worth it.I just received it and I've been playing it ever since.If you are a fan of Chic,I "highly" recommend this set.You get all 5 of their albums.My only disappointment is the omitting of the single Soup For One(thank goodness that I have a download of that song).If you are wanting to get multiple cds of one artist,this is the way to go.You save money and planning.

Esta coleccion de musica original y masterizada en cd, me intereso pues hay poco material de este grupo ademas llego muy rapido, ( la persona que entrego) no me llamo y solo mando mensaje y tuve que ir a encontrarlo, si no matcaria entrega fallida, por lo demas eccelente materisl y precio.

'Chic': 'Dance, Dance, Dance' ('Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah') is a great Disco song with great beats and great vocals by the band CHIC; 'Sao Paulo' is a nice tune with good beats (I liked the flute, drums and piano); 'You Can Get By' is a good song with good beats and good vocals ('okay' song to dance to); 'Everybody Dance' is a great song with great beats and great vocals (I liked the bass guitar, drums and it's a fantastic song to dance to); 'Est-ce Que C'est Chic' is a good song with good beats and good vocals (good song to dance to); 'Falling In Love With You' is a very nice love song with nice beats and nice vocals; 'Strike Up The Band' is another good song with good beats and good vocals (I liked the horns, guitars, drums and flute). 'C'est Chic': 'Chic Cheer' is a great song with great beats and great vocals (great song to dance to and R&B singer Faith Evans sampled the song in her song 'Never Knew Love Like This Before'); 'Le Freak' is another great Disco song with great beats and great vocals by the band (the song was #1 on the charts for six weeks and it's definitely a great song to dance to); 'Savoir Faire' is a nice tune with nice beats and I liked the strings, drums and guitars; 'Happy Man' is a good song with good beats and good vocals (the melody sounds like R&B group Sister Sledge's song 'We Are Family' even though the song came out a year later); 'I Want Your Love' is a great song with great beats and great vocals (I liked the bells, guitars, strings, horns and drums); 'At Last I Am Free' is a nice love song with nice beats and nice vocals; 'Sometimes You Win' is a good song with good beats and good vocals (good song to dance to); ('Funny') 'Bone' is a good tune with good beats and it's a good tune to dance to. 'Risqué: 'Good Times' is a great song with great beats and great vocals by the band (the song has been sampled to death by the rap group The Sugarhill Gang in their hit song 'Rapper's Delight', rapper Kurtis Blow in his song 'The Breaks' and Rock band Queen sampled the bass in their song 'Another One Bites The Dust'); 'A Warm Summer Night' is a very nice love song with nice beats and nice vocals; 'My Feet Keep Dancing' is a good song with good beats and good vocals ('okay' song to dance to); 'My Forbidden Lover' is another good song with good beats and good vocals (good song to dance to); 'Can't Stand To Love You' is yet another good song with good beats and good vocals ('okay' song to dance to); 'Will You Cry' ('When You Hear This Song') is a nice yet sad song with nice beats and nice vocals; 'What About Me' is a good song with good beats and good vocals (the song is another 'okay' song to dance to). 40年近く前に制作された作品ですが、なかには古臭さの物もありますが、全体的に全く見劣りしない5枚組です。当時聞かれた方、新しく聞かれる方にも、120%お勧めします。損は絶対にしません。
