Much better than expected
Much better than expectedI was a bit dubious as to what to really expect from it but it has exceeded my expectations.First the context: I'm somewhat chubby (1.83m for 95Kg) and I have a back condition that means vertical shock cause me chronic pain. I ride every day to work. I used to have a hardtail which caused me lot of pain. When i switched to a fully suspended mountainbike, the pain pretty much disappeared. That until... my bike was stolen! So bought another hardtail as I didn't have the money for another fully suspended and guess what: the pain came back!So I was looking for a solution and came across this seatpost. I wasn't really convinced but from the previous reviews I thought that it was worth a shot if it, at leaat, was helping with my back. I was very happy to find out that:-1: It was delivered faster than expected-2: It was dead easy to mount-3: It was dead easy to adjust the spring-4: It does what it says, and it does it well-5: I'm now pretty much pain free again! yeay!-6: the spring absorbs a surprisingly low amount of the energy you put into pedaling-7: If you like it soft, it feels like riding a giant marshmallow. If you like it harder it still give comfort and bounce. The only issue I had was that the post was not available in the right diameter for my bike but as other users did, I ordered an adapter and it works absolutely fine (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0011W87GK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).USE IT FOR WHAT IT IS INTENDED FOR: this isn't in anyway a replacement for rear shock to take 5 feet drops! This is only to give you ride comfort (and it really does)!

Well Designed
Well designed product which works well. It's worthwhile spending a bit of time adjusting it to your weight, you have to remove the saddle and stem from the seat post to make each adjustment. I set it so that I could feel it bottoming out on the biggest bumps in the road and then tightening it by a quarter of a turn.If there is any criticism then the mechanism adds a bit of height to the saddle, at it's lowest setting the top of the saddle is about 18cm above the seat post clamp. The saddle lowers about a couple of cm when you sit on it (difficult to measure, but that's my best guess) so if the top of your saddle is currently less than 16cm above the seat post clamp then you won't be able to achieve this position.Other than that, it makes a hard tail MTB feel like a full suspension MTB, once you get used to the distance between the saddle and pedals changing slightly as you go over bumps. Not sure it would perform as well off road but on London streets, full of potholes and speed bumps, it does the job.

Does what it says, acts as an effective suspension for those bumpy tracks and roads.
I have used my bike a few times now since this was fitted. I suffer from sciatica usually after a bike ride, this was recommended to me. It does what it is supposed to, definitely takes the bumps out of the uneven tracks we ride our bikes on, and less side effects on my back so far .It seems very well engineered and worth the cost.

An essential part you should have
Superior quality and excellent ride. The difference is night and day. A must if you are commuting or doing some regular miles.

Great bit kit, works a treat. Can feel it doing its job. Stops the sudden bumps and jolts going though your back.

Transforms a hardtail
Transforms a hardtail. I'm used to full suspension mountain bikes. Bought myself a hardtail ebike to which this is applied. Great in that it can be adjusted to suit individual body weights by use of an Allen-key mechanism located in base of seatpost. Those unfamiliar with using tools may find this awkward, but it's something easily done otherwise. I adjusted it so that it bottomed-out initially and then wound in the tension in increments until it stopped bottoming-out. Worth the effort for max efficiency of comfort. The seat clamp is 'quick' but works lose over time ... easy to tighten, but could be better. Worth the money despite tiny niggles. One element I don't like is that due to the mechanics of the mechanism, this will extend the 'effective top tube length' (bike will feel longer by about 300-400mm, which is significant) and so I've had to buy a shorter reach stem to counteract this. Would be awesome if the manufacturer had equated this factor into the design
