Brilliant product. Just abit fidly to put together.

This is a great beginner cage for your rat as baby rats cannot fit through the bars, there is no wood or barred floors making it perfect for the rats health (unlike some rat cages so watch out), and is certainly big enough for two rats for their first 8 - 12 months given that they are also getting plenty of daily exercise outside the cage.However, this cage is unsuitable when the rat gets to be full size as its really not got enough room for all the variety in toys and sleeping areas a rat enjoys, so this is definitely not a 'forever' cage for your rat.Rats are great at climbing so there is very little need to actually include the stairs - this will just take up space where toys could go - rats are more than capable to get from level to level without the stairs.It takes more than one person to put this cage together, I got this cage 6 months ago and I still remember how frustrating it was attempting to assemble this with my boyfriend, the instructions were very unhelpful and it just became a guessing game until we managed to get it together somehow.If you have very clever rats like me it wont take them long to figure out that the tray in the bottom slides out, so they are able to escape unless I duct tape it closed every time I clean the cage out, so definitely watch out for this.And remember if you're going to get rats, get them from a rescue center not from a breeder or a pet shop - dont be the problem!

Good sturdy cage, however I feel there Is not enough space to hang hammocks etc for rats, was a nightmare to put together.... Took 3 of us.... Got there in the end and looking forward to rearing my rats, I guess with some imagination you could do it right, but I'm Useless haha

Arrived quickly but the driver didn't bother to knock on the door I suspect that this was because of the state of the packaging I would have not expected the order on the destroyed packaging aloneExtremely difficult to put together mostly due to many of the metal parts being bent or not drilled correctly screws missing and not good qualityWe bought it for our female degus so you need to cover the floor with cardboard to prevent bumblefootWe have a little zoo cage for our male degus which is much better quality and value for money

Bigger cage doors would have been made it much easier to clean the cage, as it's hard to reach the upper platform. I'm also somewhat limited as to what I can put into the cage as I need to make sure it will fit through the doors first. The platforms aren't secure either and I ended up having to fasten them with cable ties instead, as any weight on the platforms would make them collapse. Other than that, the cage is ok.

I love this cage was a nightmare to put together but after huffing and puffing I did it lol is fiddly to clean have to start at top with cloth and warm water and animal disinfectant spray and push all Poo to bottom where tray slides out

Very spacious cage with 4 floors. Lot's of space for my rats to run around and play. I like that the bottom can be pulled out to clean the cage.

Very difficult to assemble but sturdy when finally put up, Drawbacks are that we bought this cage for rats and had to put a plastic tub in the bottom to stop the litter falling out. There is still a mess as the shelves are flat. It is difficult to clean out as the shelves are difficult to reach. A top opening hatch would have been helpful. Overall the size is good .The bars are close enough to stop 7 week baby rat boys from escaping.With some creativity this cage does the job.
