Are the magnets poles in repel or attract to each other orientation? if repel, does anyone know if it's north or south poles facing each other?

Opposite poles attract, orient them so they attract, then fit around desired pipes.

There are no instructions suggesting any movement of any magnets inside their casings. Just use the product as supplied so that the magnets attract when placed around the pipe/ tap.

Will this work on semi-rigid plastic tubing.

If I understand correctly, you mean the sort of water pipe which bends and flexes. If so, the answer is Yes, in my opinion and experience. The devices clamp on to the tubing (not very tightly), so provided the tubing is rigid enough to support them, it should be fine. I have had one of these on the main supply to my house in Greece for a few weeks now, which is the sort of tubing described above. Subjectively, I would say that it has made a difference to the amount of scale formation, and I am intending to put a second one on, and also put them onto the supply pipes for my garden watering.
