A bargain for Chaplin fans
Brilliant, Classic movies at a great price, if you like Chaplin get these before the price changes Individually the Blu rays movies vary in price, but at present are around the £10 mark each. So if you like 4 or 5 of them, then this boxed set is a bargain. The Kid, The Great Dictator, Limelight, Modern Times, The Gold Rush, The Circus that's 6 of them, and you get other works too. I think the additional material is the same as the 'special editions' dvds' which came out a few years ago. I haven't been through all the discs yet. but as an up-grade, or if you want some of the classic Chaplin long movies, this is a great box set

Remarkable
Incredible quality and value for money for this box set. It's hard to believe that some of these movies are over 90 years old. It may be a generation thing but Charlie Chaplin is the Godfather of all comedy. His story-telling and comic timing are a joy to watch and it's shame on all the television broadcasters that these films are almost entirely ignored. This box set is the best collection to start a Charlie Chaplin collection. It's hard to pick a favourite but City Lights is probably the best film followed closely by Modern Times, The Gold Rush and The Kid. The quality is quite remarkable for such old material. Well done Curzon Artificial Eye.

Excellent.
Great Blu-Ray Set this really is.To be perfectly honest, I have never been a huge Charlie Chaplin fan truth to tell. Yes, I loved "The Kid" and "The Gold Rush", but a good many of his silent efforts really did not make me laugh very much.Anyway, as I consider myself a great lover of cinema, and espying this particular set on the site, I decided to give Chaplin "another go".Frankly, I am so glad I did because this set of films is quite simply superb. I think my favourite now is "The Great Dictator" - a remarkable film, and also very, very funny indeed.Highly recommended.

A blurry King.
Chaplin is one of the only artists I will reinvest in as technology progresses. I was hugely excited about this box set. In the main it is superb. However, one gripe must be highlighted...The first film I wanted to see was A King in New York. Although static shots are pin sharp and lustrous, the image suffers greatly when there is panning or indeed any flurry of movement. This fault was to spoil my enjoyment of a very funny film. I suppose I will have to make do with my Mk2 edition from the early 2000's. I thought there was something amiss with my Blu Ray player seeing as it was a recent acquisition!Apparently the rest of the set is fine.Overall a nice set, but one star deducted due to that transfer glitch.

Fantastic Value
Great value for money as each disc outside this set costs in the range of £20, but with this set, it's around £4.50 a disc. [at the time of writing this set costs £50]Each disc is full of special features and are actually just the discs sold individually outwith this set.Whilst the unconventional disc holders are awkward in my opinion, this set is a definite must but for anyone looking to watch some of Chaplin's best work.

What a wonderful box-set this is
What a wonderful box-set this is. Glorious transfers of Chaplin's work - as a newcomer to film history I've delighted in watching the silent work of The Tramp. I'm not even halfway through the set yet and can't give anything other than 5 stars to this product, a wonderful set of movies and The Tramp films should be compulsary viewing to youngsters, particularly the 1921 movie 'The Kid'.

AN EXCELLENT PACKAGE FOR ALL CHAPLIN'S MAJOR FILMS ON BLU-RAY BUT WITH FLAWS
This is a review about the blu-ray transfers. An excellent package of Charlie Chaplin films on blu-ray at a great price. Picture and sound quality is great. My only complaint is about the "King of New York" blu-ray transfer. Unfortunately, there is a fair amount of "shuddering" when the shots are being panned. Despite this I still give the package 5 stars.
