Counter argument to Revolver31 (see 1 star reviews)
As the title stated; I've posted this review as a counter review to cancel out the misrepresentation provided by Revolver31.In his review, he stated that the digipack was of disturbingly poor quality, and the release had a budget feel to it- Please see my picture of the two box sets side by side and make your own mind up about how corners have been cut here- The second season matches the first very well (other than the fact it omits 'the complete second season' from the front of the box- thankfully, it is on the spine of the box, which again matches season one perfectly)As for the show itself- I missed season 2 when it first aired, owing to the fact I didn't realise Channel 4 had started showing it until 5/6 episodes in- I didn't want to start the season midway through so patiently waited nearly a Year for this and it's more than worth it!!I enjoyed season 1, almost in it's entirety (I admit the second half of the season blew the first half away, but that's by no means to say the first season contained a lot of throwaway episodes)This season however, is a totally different animal- After 5 episodes in, there's an incredible difference in the confidence the shows creators have shown; Scripts are tighter, characters are fleshed out more, and the story links from one episode to the next brilliantly. It's now 11.15pm and if it wasn't for work tomorrow morning i'd gladly carry on watching- without any spoilers being given in this review, I really can't wait to see what happens next, and surely a staple of great TV is leaving the viewer waiting more, and making them want to get their next fix of their favourite shows; This has that in abundance. In summary- If you haven't seen the second season and are in two minds owing to (what some would say) an indifferent first season, don't have any doubts whatsoever. And if you're a fan, don't be put off by misleading one star reviews- The limited edition blu-ray digipack is definitely worth picking up.

Good BluRay , disappointing (lack of) extra features
If I were just reviewing the series, I would give that 5 stars. After a patchy, but ultimately enjoyable series 1 , the second series continued tying up loose ends from the Marvel films (most notably the events of Captain America : The Winter Soldier).HOWEVER - as a BluRay release, Marvel have really let themselves down with the extras (or lack of) on this set."Uncover classified secrets with never-before-seen bonus features that draw you deeper into the mysteries of the Marvel Cinematic Universe" says the blurb on the back of the box - except all you get is 10 minutes of inessential deleted scenes and a 3 minute blooper real.Nothing else. A complete disappoinment.Season one had commentaries, documnetaries and even my least favourite feature VFX featurettes. If you're going to promise 'never-before-seen bonus features`, then please deliver them, Marvel !I note that the DVD box does not have this on it.

Marvel's TV slow-burner now hitting it's stride. A fantastic ride..
This series is ABC's little gem- a slow burner during series 1, this is now set in post Captain America Winter Soldier and is now really hitting it's stride. Without revealing any plot, this season is darker and more brutal at times but it is rewarding if you put in the time. There are nods-a-plenty to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even some hook-ins at times with it being dependant on it's big screen brother. My wife is now a fan and we are watching it together. It says something of the quality when you are actively waiting for the next episode or discussing the finale and what is happening in the next season. As a viewer you can "dip in", but the best way is to start from the beginning as there are some story arcs that run through the seasons.Like I mentioned, a "slow burner", but stick with it - it's worth it!

Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Season 2
The second season of the action drama spin-off from 'Marvel Avengers Assemble' (2012). Clark Gregg reprises his role from the film as Agent Phil Coulsen, who runs an elite team for the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. Together these agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. must investigate and hunt down strange occurrences posed by new threats and a rising number of super villains. The episodes are: 'Shadows', 'Heavy Is the Head', 'Making Friends and Influencing People', 'Face My Enemy', 'A Hen in the Wolf House', 'The Writing On the Wall', 'The Things We Bury', '...Ye Who Enter Here', 'What They Become', 'Aftershocks', 'Who You Really Are', 'One of Us', 'Love in the Time of Hydra', 'One Door Closes', 'Afterlife', 'Melinda', 'The Frenemy of My Enemy', 'The Dirty Half Dozen', 'Scars' and 'S.O.S.'.A great watch for any Marvel Fan.

Marvel Universe Series
This was purchased as a birthday gift, I have watched a few episode with them and now intend to add these to my own wish list. This is a great action, sci-fi series that ties in with heroes mainly from the Marvel universe. The story lines/plots are well written and make for great entertainment if this is your sort of thing.I would recommend taking a look o IMDB for more information about each episode, this way you will be able to decide whether its for you or not.My sister in law loves it, raves about it and will most likely have watched them all by now lol. So thumbs up from me on this one.

Non vedo l'ora di completare la serie! Gotta catch'em all!
Grandioso.

A strong second season (prior season spoilers)
+++Warning, this contains spoilers from season one, but no major season two spoilers+++The second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has a lot going on. One of the main arcs is the fallout from the reveal (In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which occurred at the end of the first season) that HYDRA had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. and that Ward was a double agent. There are a bunch of really good recurring characters in the Hydra storyline including Reed Diamond (playing Werner Reinhardt / Daniel Whitehall) and Adrian Pasdar (from the series Heroes) as major Glenn Talbot. Then, there is a major story arc involving Skye and her father (played by Twin Peaks' Kyle MacLachlan), which ties into the Inhumans storyline (and brings in many great recurring actors such as Dichen Lachman and Luke Mitchell. Then, there are the tie-ins to the movies that were released during the second season, primarily, Avenger's Age of Ultron, and a loose tie-in with Guardians of the Galaxy, which reveals the race of the blue-skinned alien that we saw in season one and again in season two. Jamie Alexander makes another appearance as Lady Sif, and Cobie Smulders makes an appearance as Maria Hill. The two main additions to the regular cast are Nick Blood as Lance Hunter and Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse. Hailey Atwell also reprises her role as Agent Carter for a cameo in the season premiere. As far as the blu-ray set goes, it is a MOD set that is an Amazon exclusive. Thankfully, it is still priced reasonably well, so if you prefer physical media to streaming, you can get it on blu-ray. Just be aware, that after the second season, Amazon stopped the exclusive manufacturing, and to get the show on blu-ray you have to find an imported version. The final two seasons were not released on blu-ray or DVD in any mass format and so the only way to get them is to find a bootleg version (if you want one of those). So, it is not easy to keep a collection together, so if that is a big deal to you, then you may want to just stream it. The second-season blu-ray set is very light on extras. Just deleted scenes and a blooper reel.Overall, the season is very good. While it does still have tie-ins to the MCU movies, the show really does start to stand on its own this season. Of course, as the seasons go on the show becomes less tied in with the movie, and is not "filler" to get from movie to movie as it seemed to be in season one. The acting and writing are both very good, and even though many of the cast members like Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge were still relatively new (at least in major TV roles), they do some of the best work in the show. And, Ming-Na Wen is always awesome. Of course, the Marvel Universe is basically one long (and large) intertwined story, and the show very much fits into that, but it also tells a good stand-alone story that is definitely worth watching.
