ITS PLASTIC
YES ITS PLASTIC SO CAREFUL HOW YOU USE IT.great for keeping your nato standard warm when your out and about. Keeps the fly's and midges from drinking all your tea as well. Used to get something swimming and drinking me tea every time until started using these lids.A previous review recommended using tin foil while on the stove, i have not had a problem, yet, with this on my stoves.Have bought four now for myself and others to use.Otterburn and on stag the lid even saved a cuppa when it was knocked and kept it warm.Does fit better on plastic mugs than on some of the various sized metal ones, don't forget NOT to drink straight out of your metal mug but insulate the edge, i use electrical (insulating) tape01/07/15Heavy duty american METAL lid available, but its not a good fit on british mugs, its silly expensive & imho over engineered! However there is a metal lid on sale for currently £3-50 from survivalaids.com so come on amazon get it on your sales list

Good purchase.
Arrived all in good order and fits well. I would only say that if you use it as lid for boiling take care because it is made of plastic which could melt .That said it is a good product at a good price that is well worth purchasing.Happy with it .Good to have a lid for the cup.

Very Useful piece of kit!
I bought the BCB Steel ug with this, and was very impressed indeed, this piece of equipment makes the mug a much more efficient, cooking and boiling device, significantly speeding up the cooking and boiling process. It is an excellent and useful bit of equipment, it is however made of plastic, strong plastic, but still plastic and therefore breakable, so I have only given it four stars.

Great addition to my camping cup/stove.
Great fit for my camping cup/stove. Speeds up water heating time.

works, but only when the cup is full
I use my BCB cook set almost every day, mostly as a tiny indestructible stove to knock up hot chocolate for my two toddlers when we are out and about. This cap is useful, saves fuel and also stops mud and leaves getting into your mug. Annoyingly, when you use it with a 1/2 full cup the edges begin to melt. Should be aluminium or stainless. Please BCB, make a metal one.

Its plastic that does not have a high heat tolerance. Bit like having a chocolate fire guard.
why oh why did I not read the reviews first. I guess because it was cheap I did not even bother to think. It fits my mug which is really the only positive. I have used it twice and it has started to melt against the cup. The melting shows itself as the lid getting sticky when you take it off the mug. In the end, I took it off and did without. The real lesson here is that I bought a cheap BCB crusader kit that did not come with a metal lid and now I am paying for it, or more precisely will need to pay again to buy the real deal. Don't bother with this lid, as one of the other reviewers said, use tin foil.

OK for your cup but not sure about pot
I wanted this to put over the pot and help the boil. Used it a couple of times but find it melts which is no good. Could youse it over the plastic crusader mug but seems pointless, not like it clips on and stops spills. Now id someone could sell a titanium/aluminium/stainless steel version I would bite off there hand.

well worth a couple of quid
This makes the crusader system ten times better. As mentioned by other reviews the boil time is greatly reduced. Wouldn't be any good if you were using the cup on an open fire as the lid would melt. If you are fiddling around with a bit of tinfoil as a lid then definitely buy this lid. You won't regret it.
