Worked great for my hydrostatic drive
I have an old Craftsman Garden Tractor that was in dire need of a hydrostatic unit oil change. I replaced the old dilapidated fluid with this Triax 15w-50 oil. The difference in the power transfer was huge. Especially since the old oil was completely black when coming out (probably 30 years old!). I don’t have any virgin oil analysis numbers, but it worked for my application.

Seems high quality
It's difficult to evaluate oil as it is something that has a long term effect on wear characteristics so all we can really do is lean on certifications from labs to tell us how it is performing. This oil seems to be top quality. I will get an oil test on my engine at oil change and see how it compares to my normal Mobil1 oil.

Used as Exmark Turf Tracer hydro fluid
This isn't my first experience with TRIAX. I've been using their SAE 30 full synthetic oil for all my air cooled, outdoor equipment (predator engines, lawn mowers, power washers, etc.) You can't beat the price or performance additives. I'd rather buy this high zinc, synthetic oil than have to add ZDDP to other oils.I expect this oil to be of the same quality as their other oil. I hope the additive package in this Synergy oil works well in my Hydro Gear units. Exmark specs out for full synthetic Mobil1 15W-50.

Seems like a high-end motor oil
Ok, so how does one review an engine lubricant without using it for a period of months and years? I came up with two ideas: 1. The label info. This Triax SVL is labeled as a full synthetic oil, suitable for street or racing purposes. High-moly (anti-wear). High-Zinc (desirable in older flat tappet engines). High HTSH (anti-shear under high load). API spec SP/SN (high). Made in USA. 2. An observational test regarding my vintage Cadillac with a Northstar V-8. It's a great engine, but prone to lifter noise when using "bargain" or inferior motor oils. For that reason I run only Red Line (none better). But based on the claims of this Triax, I was willing to switch over and evaluate. Results? Excellent. No lifter noise and generally nice silent running overall, just like with the Red Line. For now, I'll go with 5-Stars on this.
