Well worth the money - longer lasting - save energy - show off the colours of your fish
Excellent replacement for the mini flourescant type bulbs that we normally used - although the power saving isn't that large between these and the CFL type bulbs 7w compared to between 11W and 15W the reason for shifting to LED was for longevity - the CFL type bulbs tend to fail after about 6 months to a year - we were spending money each time to replace - these LED have already lasted longer (hence time taken to write review)Very happy with these - bought both the daylight white and moonlight blue lamps - they are brighter and really show off the vivid colours of the fish much more than the traditional bulbs. Direct replacement like for like.

So much better than the other ones!
I bought two of these bulbs to replace the 18w fluorescent ones that came with my aquarium. They are super bright and really make the fish and aquarium look great. They are easy to fit and I like the fact that I can tilt the bulb should I want to if I wanted to have more light at the back of the tank, for example. The main reason I bought them was to save electricity and I understand they use less than 50% compared to the other bulbs. Overall, a good purchase that I am very happy with.

Good replacement for fluorescent bulb
Have had the bulb a month now hasn’t given any issues. The picture provided doesn’t really do this bulb justice. If your upgrading from the fluorescent bulb version just be aware that this bulb is a darker blue from its counterpart.

Looks well made. Fingers crossed it will work for the projected time.
Bought a pair of the original CFL bulbs in Febuary and both failed within a week of each other at the end of November same year. Based on using 10 hours a day (but probably lot less in reality), they only lasted less then half the projected life. While the bulbs worked, they were nice and bright, and Standard alternate bulbs were not up to the job in terms of light output or colour.I think they fail prematurely (I have bought many of these over the life of the tank) due to overheating in the light compartment with no enough heat venting, so I have switched to the newer LED replacement reviewed here. This LED bulb has got a pretty chunky heatsink on the top, which means it is important to position the LED part to point down. This might mean not fully tightening in the fitting?). To reduce the heat level in the bulb compartment further, I took off the metal reflective shield on the covers (this would not really be viable with the original type of bulb). I think this will allow better heat dissipation, and combined with the lower power (7W) of this LED version compared to 15W for the CFL bulb, I have reasonable hopes of a significantly better life span. The actual light output of the bulbs is very good and just as bright and white as the CFL version.4 stars currently, but will revisit this review after about a year (or before if one fails) .....

Great bulbs for the money.... Actually, just great bulbs!
I have one white and one blue LED bulb in my 64l Fish Pod tank. They are both super powerful, and they seem to give off very little heat. The white bulb really sets off the white sand that I have, and the blue one gives a lovely dark, almost menacing night time light.I'm actually going to be replacing the blue one with another white one since the diffuser in the tank leaves one half very light, and one half very dark! Some people might like it, but I think I'll prefer a single colour of light across the whole tank. With bulbs in the middle of a smaller tank this might work better.I would certainly recommend these bulbs.

Good lights, but mine arrived damaged. Replacements were sent.
I’ve ordered these lights before and are good led light and lasted very well, but needed replacements. ordered 2 and arrived in individual boxes which were visually undamaged but both of the lights Inside were damaged and very dangerously unsafe to use. Screw ends bent over and the white plastic part of the lights were bent open exposing the wires inside on both lights.Reported the damages and the 2 replacement bulbs were shipped again and arrived the very next day!

Very poor build quality, avoid!
I have had 2 of these bulbs in my tank for years now, 1 failed so I replaced with this Interpet item (same as old one) the new one has different LEDS, seems much lighter build quality, and burnt out 3 days after installing, and warning they get hot, so much so the plastic ends deform, I have taken a photo to show the differences and damage, I got a replacement for the first item, it lasted 2 days. The item is total rubbish, save your money, I am sending these photos to Interpet.

Great upgrade from original halogen bulb.
Tried this for the first time, having been using the old halogen version for some years. Impressed with brightness, and pleased that the head rotates so you can get the LEDs pointing the right way.
