Tranquillo 2-Person 600lbs Instant Hammock with Stand, Black

Oh my it’s perfect.! Strong but portable with carry bag. I definitely recommend this hammock. Interesting fact I noticed that this hammock design is only now in the process of being patented.

Bought a second hammock after buying this one. It travels great and we were the envy of others when we set up two of these on the beach in Carpinteria under an awning. Many a nap was had on them. Setup is a breeze. They are stable and fit me at 6’2”.

The Tranquillo Universal Hammock Stand looked promising on paper with its 600 lb capacity and quick-fold design, but in real-world use it just didn’t deliver the comfort or ease I was hoping for. The stand itself is quite heavy, which makes portability a bit of a challenge despite being marketed as a quick 20-second setup system. In practice, I found it hard to set up, and the process felt more cumbersome than it should for something meant to be convenient and travel-friendly. Once assembled, the comfort level was another letdown. The hammock simply isn’t very comfortable to use, and it’s difficult to relax in for long. For the price and the claims of a “revolutionary” portable design, I was expecting something far more user-friendly. It does feel sturdy and has a decent warranty, but overall this stand just didn’t meet expectations.

I just got it today, and as soon as I opened the plastic wrap around the hammock, there was this fishy like smell, pretty strong too. I took it outside to test it. The smell was awful, laying in it. I also noticed the height (shows 16in) from the ground to point of contact of 180lbs body is far lower than 16in (on the tallest height adjustment.) And I’m only 165lbs. I ended up not using the chain links, and hooked it on the round piece of steel. It’s a bit shorter that way, thus taller. Creating lil more space underneath. I left the hammock hang outside overnight, to air out that fishy smell. Hopefully it will. It’s a bit on a heavy side too, not too bad tho. Id carry it to the beach 😁 🏖 🌊 *Edit: I got it to be higher as described. It was a user-error 🤦🏻‍♂️ 😁 The fish-like smell did go away after airing it out, outside for couple of days. Then sprayed it with Fabreeze.

The hammock is extremely comfortable! Setup is a bit tricky at first but once you see how it works it becomes very easily understandable. Only downside to this is the bag to carry the hammock in. When I stored the hammock, it was fine but when I took out the hammock for my second use and then went to store it away in the bag, the zipper came right off. I jimmied it back and when I used the hammock again and then stored it again, zipper came off again. I wasn't gonna wrestle a zipper again so as of now I just use the velcroed handle to keep everything in the bag, but it no longer has the zipper attached thus leaving it wide open. The bag is good but the zipper is very cheap plastic so it's bound to fall off or break eventually. I plan to order a better storage bag for the hammock, otherwise the hammock itself is definitely worth the price even with the cheap zipper on the bag.
