Not the cheapest, but well made and much better quality than other pencils in this price range. Really well balanced to use and the retraction mechanism works well. The rubber grip is comfortable. Not sure how many years it will last - it will depend on your usage I guess, but hopefully it won't go sticky like some rubber can. Time will tell. Would buy these again, particularly as you can get 4 of these for the price of one Rotring 800 (and unlike the rotring i got actually work without fault). The different lead thicknesses are a great benefit for technical drawing/graphics work. I'd recommend this to anyone needing to draw a lot for their study/as part of their job.

I bought 4 different sizes and like that the shape allows you to get in tight to a straight edge or try square while offering good protection for the leads. The thicker versions have been good for marking rough wood as the lead does not break like other pencils.

I bought these as japan imports through Amazon Uk. The colour coding allows instant recognition of line thickness and lead refill choices. These lead-holders are a great choice if you are a budding sketch artist. They come with lead provided, but sketchers can put Ain H or 2H (hard leads) refills in the thinnest one, and Ain B, 2B and 4B (soft leads) in the other three. The build quality is excellent (Pentel), and I have also ordered the Graphgear for Pro set (a bit more expensive, but beautiful pencils), again as Amazon imports.

I already had one of these - 0.5mm - and was so happy with it that I bought this set. The retracting point is the USP for me. Having inadvertently stabbed myself with this type of pencil, more than once - put it in your pocket and then bend over. An added advantage is that the "nib" is protected when not in use. The smaller sizes are vulnerable. After using the first one for a while I made the decision to get the full set - to replace my older versions that are getting worn out after use for, in at least one case, 40 years. Comfortable to use and the colour coding is helpful.

Absolutely gorgeous build quality and feel. Its cheaper to order all 4 of these from Japan, pay shipping and wait, than it is to buy seperately here in the UK.

Amazing set of mechanical pencils. They feel nice and heavy in hand and because they're sturdy it reduces the amount of leads(pencil refills) that break off. The rubbery bits get dirty easily but are also cleaned easily just by wiping them. I also like that you can retract the metal lead dispencer bit at the very end so that it doesn't break/become loose.

Fantastic pencils for accurate drawing. Feel nice to hold and have a positive grip. These are well made and look professional. The bundle of pencils is a great deal as these are pricey per pencil. Value for money.

I'll be retiring in a few years as a design engineer and although the standard Pentel mechaniclal pencils have been free issue to me for most of my professional career I decided to treat myself to these great pencils. I wish I'd bought them when I was 16.
