These are by far my favourite protein bar and I have tried them all. High amount of protein, they taste great and they have lots of texture so they feel like a naughty treat but have hardly any sugar in them. Some of the other flavours have less sugar. But these are like having a chocolate bar.

These bars are delicious and help me maintain high daily protein intake. It’s my treat during the day at work as I love the taste and can avoid unnecessary high calorie sugary chocolates. Although slightly more calories than the Grenade Carb Killa version, the taste of the PHD excels and is incomparable to Grenade. Excellent and will continue to repurchase

I usually don't expect much from protein bars as they tend to be really dry and artificial tasting. This one was pretty good, has a decent amount of protein in it and doesn't taste to artificial. I liked the rice crispies but the middle "protein part" could be more flavorful since it tasted like nothing.

I'm a 33 year old female and work out 4-5 days a week, a mixture of dance and gym stuff. I eat quite healthily on the whole, apart from I have a very sweet tooth and enjoy a bit of cake. I generally try to avoid chocolate bars as a habit but do need a mid-afternoon snack to tide me over until dinner time, so I typically have either a piece of fruit or one of these if I want a few more calories: Grenade Carb Killa High Protein and Low Carb Bar, 12 x 60 g - Caramel Chaos TASTE & TEXTURE This bar has a chocolate coating with some rice crispies underneath the surface and a slightly soft sweet chewy centre. It's slightly bigger than your average protein bar and sweeter than most, but not overwhelming so. I think it's very tasty! I find it a really decent tasty filling snack. I've tried many different protein chocolate bars and flapjacks. Many of the other protein bars taste very odd with a dry grainy unappealing texture. This one is completely different and I would happily eat it as a snack, not just for the protein gains. NUTRITIONAL INFO (per 64g bar) 241 cal per bar / 20.0g protein / 24.0g carbohydrates (1.9g sugars) / 0.4g fibre / Salt 0.33g The bar is a good size, and unlike other sweet treats I actually find that if I eat one of these for breakfast I have sustained and steady energy until lunch, instead of the feeling of being a bit shaky before lunch if I've had a cereal based breakfast or too many sugary snacks. It's hard to judge whether or not I've seen any muscular gains from eating a few of these bars, but I have been eating them for breakfast and find that they're enough to fuel a workout and also get me through to lunch. If you wanted to gain mass you can add 1 of these bars on to your normal food for the day rather than eating them as a meal replacement. With a decent protein hit (20g), these are certainly beneficial to me and I've noticed that I've looked more lean and fit just by replacing my naughty snacks with protein chocolate bars. WOULD I BUY IT? Yes! There are 12 bars in this box for £19.99 so they cost £1.67 a bar if purchased in this pack at the current Amazon price. It's ever so slightly more expensive than your average protein bar (usually about £1.50ish) but I definitely find it delicious and filling. It's just a slight shame that there isn't more fibre in it, as some other similar bars offer around 6-8g and taste just as good, but this is a minor point as I get plenty of fibre elsewhere in my diet.

These bars were probably the best in the market and I was a regular customer but had to cancel all my orders and subscriptions after they changed the recipe without any notice. They taste absolutely awful now. The new recipe is quite unpleasant and there is an awful bitter aftertaste. You get this in all their bars now regardless of their flavour. The crunchy texture is also gone and now they are soft and gooey. It seems they have changed the whole recipe and manufacturing process of these bars, making them inedible. Not for me anymore

I have purchased this PhD Smart Bar, High Protein Low Sugar because the Caramel Chocolate Low Carb Bar that I usually purchased from Amazon has run out of stock, and I had a good look for a suitable replacement and I spotted the Smart Bar so I have really been enjoying the Flavour and textures of this particular bar that’s a wonderful low sugar chocolate biscuit.

Great tasting product, BUT when my box arrived, it had clearly been resealed and was missing one bar - there were bits of wrapper, so I’m guessing someone got peckish packing it, or there was a bit of a spill. Either way a bit annoying given the price per bar (and difficult to actually follow-up on) Other than that - great taste and value (when full pack)

These are hands down the best tasting protein bar I have tried, and particularly good on the macro's. I've had a few boxes of the cookies and cream flavour and they get rid of any treat cravings and work as a great snack during the working week pre gym sessions. They've now replaced my usual go to bar Grenade Carb Killa High Protein and Low Carb Bar, 12 x 60 g - Caramel Chaos . Highly recommend giving the PHD bars a go!

It’s very tasty and guilty free, and I ate it as like post workout or afternoon pick me up snack !
