Simple, approachable, doable!
I was a complete novice - had only tried boiling an old nightdress with onion skins! This book has been really great because it makes the whole process simple, approachable, and achieveable. I have already dyed with sorrel, sunflowers, coreopsis flowers and turmeric using an old white cotton sheet and it has been simple, fun, addictive! I have made an iron mordant in a jampot and learnt so much so quickly and I love it😁😁Great photography, layout & editing too, and the book doesn't over-load you with info or blind you with science. I have already defninitely got my money's worth thank you Abigail

A wonderfully written and illustrated book by Abigail Booth on the ...
A wonderfully written and illustrated book by Abigail Booth on the Art and Craft of using an abundance of organic materials to produce natural dyes. Using foraged and found, easily attainable raw materials the book guides you through the craft of dying fabric and shows the remarkably subtle and variable tones that can be achieved. Through traditional stitching and patchwork techniques the writer creates beautiful, contemporary works of art and utilitarian cloth works of exquisite beauty.

Food for thought ....
I'm totally new to natural dyes and thought the reviews on this one sold it hands down! It's a beautiful book even on my Kindle Fire. Rather than fabrics I am looking at dyeing wool. I am a felter/mixed media artist although Abigail has tempted me with her projects in this book!IIt's a lovely book and I do while heartedly recommend it. Everything you need is easy to get hold of.Now.......where's that big spare stock pan?I love it!

Beautiful, easy to use natural dyeing book
This has to be my favourite book that I own. It is a beautiful book. She covers not only how to get dyes from plants but also red cabbage, onion skins, coffee etc. Beautifully laid out easy-to-use recipes and wonderful projects like handstitched coasters and a Japanese harvest bag, an apron and gardeners smock.

A beautifully set out book
Can't wait to start my natural dying journey. This book is very well set out with clear instructions and information. Highly recommend if you are wanting to be more ethically minded.

Fabric/Wool dyeing.
Great, in-depth book about natural fabric/wool dyeing . Super resource for people who want to get back to the roots of fabric/wool preparation. 'The Good Life' - here it comes.

Disappointed
Didn’t really cover the dyeing of wool more interested in fabric, which is not what I brought it for. It’s ok not as good as others

Beautiful and inspiring guide
This is a beautiful and inspiring guide to natural dying. I can really sense her love of this alchemical craft. The photos are very clear and the writing both personal and easy to follow. Would highly recommend
