Classy
Lovely tagine. Very stylish and expensive looking. Another reviewer noted that the ceramic tagine top was poor quality but mine is perfect and I have no complaints. Too nice to stick in a dark cupboard so have it sitting on display (plus I didn't have any cupboard space big enough for it!)

Mutton Dressed As A Lamb Tagine
My opinion of this pan differs from the majority of reviews posted here. I purchased one of these but ultimately sent it back as I felt somewhat disappointed. It looks very fine in the listing, and the name of it suggests a high quality Scandinavian implement. Of such things I am a big fan, and genuine Scandinavian engineered goods are invariably very well made indeed. On delivery and in the hand though, things are rather different. Visually, something just wasn't adding up. The metal pan is made from a surprisingly thin gauge of stainless, and it relies on a folded rim to maintain its shape and provide stability to the large upturned handles. I believe they are vertical because they have to be - horizontal ones would simply bend the flimsy rim. I've owned a set of British made Prestige stainless pans for many years and was expecting the Scanpan to be made to a similar quality and thickness, but it's a very poor cousin and awfully cheaply constructed in comparison. Others here have said they like the pan, but I suggest you look at one in person before parting with so much money. The porcelain hood is fine, but go and see for yourself how thin the metal part is.Further investigation revealed that this item is actually made in a Chinese factory rather than being forged by Vikings. That explained the quality issues, and I would expect to pay more like thirty five pounds for this pan, and perhaps encounter it in Lidl. It annoys me when cheaply made Far Eastern goods are dressed up as expensive but higher quality Western ones - it's just a way to make inflated profits on the back of wide eyed punters like me.Happily there are lots of far cheaper tagines on offer.
