Great at removing matts, but the cat doesn't much care for it
I'm not going to sugarcoat it- my cat does not like this comb. Thankfully though, she does tolerate it. My cat is elderly and unable to groom that well. Being semi longer haired, this is resulted in some thick matts. This comb is excellent at teasing the matts out, but you will need to be patient with it to get results. I've found that my cat is more willing to sit through a grooming session if I hold the fur in place whilst I comb so it doesn't pull as much. I've bought tons of grooming brushes since seeking the Holy Grail that works AND is liked by the cat, but I don't think such a thing exists. You need something sufficiently pointy to get under the matts and brush them out. If you want an all purpose brush for a cat that doesn't need the extra help, a slicker brush would likely be more comfortable for your pet, but for serious matts this is the best comb I've come across so far.

Great for long haired dogs!
Fabulous! I have a Catalan sheepdog who has a thick and long double coat. As he’s only seven months old we had been using just a slicker brush and brushing his coat upwards to get through all the layers. I thought this was pretty effective at keeping in top of the knotting, but once I started using this comb it became apparent how much I had been missing! It glides through the full thickness of the coat and finds knots the slicker brush had missed. His coat is now much fluffier and looks and feels to be in better condition too. The dog has been regularly groomed since he was eight weeks old so is fairly used to it, although that doesn’t mean he likes it, but he has not objected to this comb anymore than the brush and definitely enjoys it more when I use this comb around his face and head!

Works well on wavy fur Cockapoo
I was shown a similar comb by my vet that had teeth of 2 different lengths.I researched what was available and went for the Rosewood Moulting Comb. Happy so far and it works well on my cockapoo puppy who has wavy fur which grows quickly. The comb not only helps keep the fur tangle free but helps remove grass seeds and other things that get caught when playing outdoors and by using regularly prevents matting.

Effective fluff remover - but be gentle
Definitely effective. My short hair dog was still leaving hair everywhere, and seemed a bit matted underneath round his backside area... You have to be gentle, so it does recommend brushing your dog first. As do I! Or it’s not pleasant for your pup, as it can get caught and pull, without prior teasing and loosening up... That said, once you get (carefully) going, you’ll be surprised how much fluff you get out. Might take more than one go, but definitely makes a difference. It makes my dog have a zoomie afterwards sometimes though!

Did the job on my Labrador.
I bought this to use on my Labrador. I've bought a few brushes before but this one has so far proven it's a good choice. My dog is moulting really heavily at the moment and was getting the tufts of loose fur. I gave her a good brush with this and she looks much better, it got the loose fur and the undercoat which is the thicker lining. I could effectively have made a whole new dog with what I got off of her. The handle has a good grip, even if you have a butty dog who hates being groomed. It's not flimsy at all and does the job. I've used this on my Labrador who has a thick coat so I'd say you could use it on most breeds and even cats. I gave my cat a brush with it and it got a lot of loose fur off of her too so it's not just for dogs.

Great
Have an elderly cat who doesn't groom herself very much anymore, and has started to get matts in her fur. Had been using a different brush and although hair did come out of her coat she still got matts that required shaving out. Decided to try this and it really makes a difference, really does take out a lot more of the loose fur and no more matted patches.

Highly recommend
Highly recommend for moulting doggos. Super impressed, such a great product for a very good price. We tried 2/3 different style of brushes and combs for our collie-rottweiler's previously and nothing really did the job. We just rescued an American Akita and this brush has been a dream!! He really enjoys it too, other combs can be scratchy but the rounded ends make this perfect for a long combing session!
