Best book on category theory
This book is your best friend if you want to learn category theory. And probably the only book with exercises and solutions. Also have a look on videos of Steve Awodey on Youtube that are excellent.

This is serious stuff.
I'm studying Category Theory for curiosity after my masters in theoretical physics. This book is virtually the only resource I have. The style in which it is written is conducive to learning, with many exercises and applied examples.Oftentimes the author refers to some result or generalisation and almost without fault, the theme is picked up in the exercise section at the end of the chapter. Very helpful! And the solutions are concise but clear, so you get to think more.It is helpful to have some knowledge of Groups, Vector Spaces, Proof Theory, Monoids or Topology, as these are often used as examples. However I only know of the first two and I still feel I am not missing out on much. All in all, I am learning very fast.

Very good book for learning and teaching category theory
This is definitely a good course book. Topics are introduced gently, examples are easy to read, and the exercises are excellent. No complaints about it, but it's not a very advanced book, though the chapter on algebras for a monad is very clear and explains a more advanced topic than the rest of the book.

One of the best books available
There are very few books that explain this topic clearly. This is about the only one I have come across, and even this one has mistakes in it, and some of the definitions are not as clear as they should be. Steve Awodey has told me he will be making corrections in his next edition. Meanwhile, this is still probably the best out there, and is not as expensive as most.

A very good book but hard going
I am a fan of Steve Awodey’s online lectures. This is a very well written book. I was hoping that I would gain some insight into category theory, but I found the found the book very tough going. I am keeping the book as a good reference. It is the subject of category theory itself which is difficult rather than the book, and I admit to not wanting algebra to be the foundation of anything.

Excellent book, poor binding
The book is an excellent reference to Category Theory, but its pages fly all over, poor binding!
