Plush Velour Lined Adjustable Ornament Keeper By Tree Keeper

I had my old felt and cardboard ornament storage container literally disintegrate while I was taking it out of the attic. I was terrified that I could lose a lifetime of family heirloom ornaments, so I immediately went looking for the highest quality replacement I could find. This was it! Probably a little spendy for what it is, but does great for large and oddly shaped ornaments. Great quality and seems likely to last for a very, very long time.

I agree with others that there are only TWO trays & the fabric is NOT velour. Once I figured out how to put it together, it was pretty easy. Does not come with written instructions but picture instructions. I also purchased the 3 tray, deep pocket premium model (TK-10685). I have hundreds of very delicate ornaments. On this plush, velour model (TK-10708), you get 2 trays. You have to fit a wire top piece on top of the tray, then there's velcro around the tray sides that the fabric attaches to. Then, you push the fabric down within each wire square. So, each ornament is NOT really protected by it's own boxed area. That's the bad side & why I gave a 4-star review. The good side is that you can fiddle with the placement of pieces to fit more oddly shaped ornaments within it. I also note, that if your ornaments have glitter, they will snag against the fake velour material (another reason for 4-star - maybe 3 3/4 stars is better.) I gently wrap my ornaments in tissue paper first & then they fit fine without any snags. It's an expensive unit BUT it will hold-up for a long time. I used to use large clear plastic boxes with cardboard separaters but I now prefer individual trays.since I'm tired of digging out the ornaments from deep within the box. Unfortunately, I don't believe the Treekeeper organizers can be stacked. You may get away with it if you put heavy cardboard between them but the sides are canvas & could collapse. I wouldn't risk it & it presents a little bit of a storage in the attic conundrum for me!

The fabric is very thick on the outside but not firm to protect glass ornaments. And, the protective fabric in each layer is thin. There is no real cushioning to protect the ornaments. I used bubble wrap around the sides and around each of the glass ornaments for extra protection. This made the process take a lot longer and this was supposed to help make it easier for me. I do like how I can slide the size of each compartment for my 6” and some long 8” ornaments. I was able to store 56 very large ornaments in this one case. Would I buy another? I’m not sure. Too pricey for the extra work I had to do and purchasing bubble wrap.

Like everything about this my only concern would be if someone stacked something on top a layer of foam or something similar on the top would be wonderful but still a great product I added some tissue on top container for added protection.

For common sized ornaments I use other storage cases that have fixed cardboard inserts in trays. I got this for specifically for large/odd ornaments. The trays are deep and the sliders allow you to make a row have any size slots.Be aware that the ornaments sink into fabric (like being in hammock). Rough surfaced ornaments tend to grab onto the fabric. Some of the glitter on my large glass ornaments gets rubbed off on the fabric when removing them.If most of your ornaments are small-medium sized, get a case with fixed tray dividers. If you have large/odd ornaments, this might be your only good option for tray storage.
