Good for lighter tablets or large phones
Looks good, good reviews, just a shame it doesn't support my 7" tablet when going over everyday potholes. It's only come out once, but that's in a week of using it, and it simply shouldn't happen. Also it now doesn't tighten up and tilt to an angle as it did when first attached, it now slumps downwards in a somewhat dejected fashion. Which is how I feel after reading the positive reviews.EDIT 1: I've updated my review as it works perfectly with my new iPhone 6. Just struggled to bear the weight of my heavier tablet.Edit 2: After 2 years and 4 months this is still working fine with my iPhone 6

Excellent seller (Satechi) and great quality product
Excellent seller (Satechi) and great quality product.Fits perfectly in the CD slot. Didn't use the gap fillers provided initially because it felt secure but the road made it bounce and squeak against the plastic facia, so I used the 2.5mm which was a really snug fit (go slow and ease it in) and now it's wedged in and no more bouncing or squeaking! So impressed will be getting another one for my husband. The finish is really nice and feels expensive, and feels like a part of the car. Far better than suction ones on the window, which eventually fall apart.or drop off when your driving. Perfect size for the Samsung S8.

Nexus 7 Tablet will not fit this mount
I recently purchased this mount to secure my Nexus 7 tablet to the dash CD slot of my Peugeot 308. The mount itself is of good quality. Well constructed and packaged, it came with some adaptors to make sure that it sat securely in the CD slot with minimal vibration. The tablet is within easy reach and I don't have the problem of it falling off, which was an issue I continually had with the windscreen suction-type mounts. The only problem I've got with this is that it is too large to accommodate my Nexus 7 tablet (7 inch diagonal length). In landscape mode there is probably about 5mm of clearance at the top when the mount clasp is fully closed. It is not possible to put the Nexus 7 onto the mount in portrait mode (tablet secured by the short ends) as the clasp will not open far enough. Essentially this item is not accurately described in the item listing.I've ended up having to prop the tablet into the holder, though any sudden acceleration or cornering will easily dislodge it. There were two lengths of adhesive foam padding that I have also made use of to try and make the tablet more secure, but it does a poor job of it. Ideally I was hoping to not have to mess around with the mount too much to make it work but evidently this isn't going to be the case.

the unit to can be adjusted so you have the perfect positioning without the need to distract you too much ...
Having used this item for a while now,I find it increasingly difficult to use any other type of tablet/phone holder. No suction cups continually dropping off leaving my devices floor bound, not to mention obscuring my vision whilst driving. It came with three different mounts of varying thickness so should fit the majority of cd slots. The quality is second to none and very sturdily built so you can count on getting plenty of use out of it. As for holding the tablet/phone, the unit to can be adjusted so you have the perfect positioning without the need to distract you too much while driving. Overall I would recommend it as a great alternative to other mounted holders and we'll worth the cost.

Annoying within a BMW
I have had this for over two months and l use it in my BMW. When placing the iPhone within it it struggles to hold the weight (case removed) and constantly knocks on the pre program numbers below the cd slot. Unfortunately in my view it is not fit for use with a large mobile. FYI it's a standard 6 model.

The best!
I've tried lots of different mobile phone mounts in the past, but the Satechi mobile cd mount is in my opinion the best. Materials and design are good for a iPhone 6 plus, and the cd player works when in use. I don't think it's ridged enough for a large iPad, which shakes a lot even in a luxury car. I would definitely recommend this product.

This product which I highly recommended has turn out to be as solid as I thought. It looks well built and was good to crab n grip my iPad 2 for 3 months. However, in the last few days it cannot hold on to the iPad. It keeps slipping. Not great for less than a year warranty

Okay if you have the right type of car CD player. Will only just work in a Subaru impreza diesel clarion system.
Came in useful as my car at the time hadn't got sat nav, and needed something that would hold my iPhone 6+ and in a view I could glance at using the free nav app. Only gave this 4 stars as it was a chore to fit into a 2010 Subaru impreza Diesel clarion double din cd slot. Managed to get it in enough to clamp and hold but made a mess of the felt slot. Did the job I needed it for. Something to bare in mind that this item is useful but make not of the type of slit loading CD player you have in the car.
