Superb Belt sander
I was not sure what to expect but what a pleasant surprise I got, the first time I used it. It was used on very rough wood but it handled it superbly. The bag caught virtually all the sawdust so I wasn't breathing it in. The result was excellent. What impressed me most was that the belt wasn't wandering all over the place when it was running, like my old one (supposed to have been a good make) & I didn't have to adjust it once. Definitely a good buy for anyone wanting a good quality belt sander at a very reasonable price.

No dust extraction
This machine is very good for the price. It is heavy and powerful and will require control with 2 hands otherwise it will run away from you.I used this for a pine box and the sander melted through the wood. I am only rating this 4* as the dust extraction is terrible. The bag included does not catch much dust and the odd rectangular shape of the pipe means you cannot attach a dust vac.I would have liked a variable speed, but for this price point I understand that's a luxury. It was either this or the Makita I was going to buy and I'm glad I chose this instead as its done the job for £200 less. Would recommend.

Excellent piece of kit
Arrived on time (even though just left on the doorstep in full public view). Used for sanding pergola for re-staining. Works well.

Budget belt sander - recommended
I bought the sander for a specific job, as my other two sanders, i.e. orbital and sheet were not really suitable. This one is quite impressive and although it's not DeWalt like the rest of my power tools, for the low price paid, I'm very pleased. I'm now making a box to store it in, as it deserves to be looked after. All in all, recommended to others for DIY/occasional belt sanding jobs.

Its not a sander its an over heating belt eater
Probably the worst tool I have owned so far, it eats through belts every 5 min, no dust collection and over heats, trying to sand some scaffolding boards (not hard wood) for a worktop it struggled. God knows how after company testing they decided to release the product, it even eat its own plastic while the belt breaks, best spend a little more and get a sander that works, buy cheap buy twice, I thought it was a good deal for small jobs but will go back to Makita.

Decent, but gets very hot
I've used this sander hard for about 10hrs, mostly with very aggressive grits - its a hell of a workout. The sander is very powerful, but I've been using it at about 2-4c ambient temperature. With this low ambient temperature, the motor housing area is around 65c. In summer, I can't see this doing very well, if you increase the ambient temperature by 20-30c, the machine will be over 80c at which point I think the wiring/motor windings are going to be in trouble. The belts cut through the housing at the back, as there is nothing to keep the belts tracking. It can accommodate slightly different length belts easily, as there is an adjustment knob on the front for length - but no tracking adjustment. The belts I used all tracked pretty well so it wasn't an issue for me. The belts came off too hot to touch, certainly gets things toasty when you work it hard. The dust bag is laughable. I filled a 40litre vacuum to the brim with sawdust, but the little dust bag was only about 1/4 full. All that being said, it did what I needed it to do without complaint, and I'm sure it will be fine in summer but it will either need long, regular breaks or to be babied so as not to overheat and reduce its lifespan considerably.

Big and heavy but does the job well
This is a big heavy boy but well made and sturdy.I originally got this to help shrink down doors due to them expanding during the cold winter with less household heating.I first tried to sand the door down without removing it from its hinges. It worked to a degree but due to the weight of the sander it was hard to handle. You definitely need to clamp the object down and use this tool with 2 hands.
