It is a firm favourite. As well as a lot of fun
Superb party game. Lots of replay value. I use this game for a board games group in a mental health recovery centre where i work. It is a firm favourite. As well as a lot of fun, the game encourages roleplaying and helps promote self-esteem, communication and social skills, tactical thinking and social engagement. The deluxe version only contains one standard seer whereas the standard game has two - one male and one female - but this is minor and not a deal breaker. Most of the cards and roles are not used as we usually only play with 5-7 players and some of the roles are rather weak or too powerful in small groups. The favourite 5 player combination at the moment is: Seer, Werewolf, Bodyguard and 2 Masons. I would definitely recommend this game. Technically you don't need bespoke cards, you could use playing cards to represent roles, but it is much nicer and a lot easier to teach new players using the specific cards so worth buying just for that.

An extremely enjoyable game!
I bought this after playing it with a group of people, now I play it with my friends and family! Sometimes we even play it to 1 o'clock in the morning! It's extremely fun and enjoyable, but also a logical game that gets you thinking. It's about lies and decite, as the villagers try to find and lynch the werewolves while those same werewolves eat the villagers at night! It's a fun little RP game that has so many different cards and scenarios so that every game is really different, and since it can have 5-68 players, there are so much possibilities to play its endless! I really recommend this! If you like Mafia, you'll like this!

Great but a mistake on page 8
Have been playing this at my uni’s game society for the past couple of months and had to get a deck for myself. Everything seemed fine with this copy till I found this weird black square on page 8

All you need
Really nice version and the manual is also really great, containing different rules. There is a block where the narrator can put in all different roles. This is a great tool for the narrator because with higher amount of participants and roles it may become really confusing who was who.Another bonus point are the descriptions on the cards, so people wouldn't ask what their role means all the time.Summing up, this version has everything you need, so you don't have to buy any add-on games and yet have fun for a very long time.

Great for young and old, large groups and small
I first played this at the Discworld Convention in summer 2014, with a mix of players ranging from 10 years old to 60. Most of us had never met, some were new to the game like me, and others were seasoned veterans. But after 15 minutes of play everyone was having a great time.Werewolf has a fairly simple premise and is easy for players to pick up: The group plays a medieval fantasy village that is beset each night by werewolves and/or other supernaturals, who pick the players off one by one. Each player is assigned a card with a role, there is a simple day and night cycle where the werewolf faction "attack" and the village exacts revenge the following morning with a "hunt". It can be played anywhere people can sit in a circle and is great for those with limited mobility as there is no movement necessary for anyone other than the moderator. The game is highly versatile with easy and advanced scenarios that can be arranged to suit the group's needs, and can be fast paced and furious or gentle and relaxed. I used it as an ice breaking activity for my university students during induction week and within a couple of hours we had progressed from basic games to our own rule sets and scenarios. I learned 30 new student's names within 90 minutes! And we're doing it again in a week or two.I'm thoroughly addicted and will be taking this little box with me wherever groups may have time to kill, or people need to get to know each other.
