If you are new to gelli printing and want to explore this medium further, this is the book for you. It illustrates clearly a super variety of Ideas, methods and tips. You probably wouldn’t need any other book. I also found the gallery of varied artists and their art work at the back of the book, instructive. Wish I’d found it sooner.

This Gelli Plate is an excellent invention. It revolutionises monoprinting and is a joy to use. The only problem is that it is tempting to get carried away and produce stacks of exciting prints. After my initial obsession I am trying to discipline myself to making prints for specific projects but it is very hard.

My main focus is intaglio printmaking - with a press - and the Gelli has always taken the back seat but this gives me a toolbox for fully integrating it into my other work.This book is for novices and for experienced Gelli artists.It is also for straightlaced printmakers.I love the way Joan Bess breaks down the work into simple techniques, with steps, ingredients and photos of the results.Most of all, I am grateful to Joan Bess for giving us the Gelli.Go for it!
