Works great w/ HAOS / Home Assistant
Wayyyy too easy to setup with Home Assistant running via HAOS on an Intel NUC. I plugged it into the USB3.0 port, restarted HA (just HA not even the full OS), then the device was auto-found and Integrations had something new for me to click to install "Zigbee Home Automation". After that, you pair devices by clicking on the integration > click "1 device" on the left (or might have multiple devices) > then "add device" button. If you have any Zigbee devices in pairing mode they will be found and auto pair. Too easy

Excellent! Using as a range extender router
I bought this dongle since i needed to extend my Zigbee range to a second floor, this worked perfect, I had to update the firmware (which was very quick and easy) to change the default from coordinator to router, paired it with home assistant and then connected it to a usb power brick somewhere in the house and boom, my zigbee range improved. Recommended for those who are looking to extend their Zigbee network.

Zigbee controller, works great with HA & ZHA
I'm using this with Home Assistant using ZHA, which is running inside VMWare. It was easy to setup and my zigbee devices have connected to it easily.

Great for HA - upgrade the firmware
It will work with Home Assistant, but with the latest update it won't. Look the model online and upgrade the firmware of the device to the latest and it will work for you too.

Important note about Home Assistant on a virtual device!
If you're running Home Assistant on VMware or VirtualBox or some other virtualization software, be sure to set up a USB passthrough for this device and MAKE SURE IT'S SET FOR USB 3.0 AND NOT 2.0! Setting it to 2.0 will cause your HA server to crash when you attempt to add the dongle.Other than that little detail which I had to go digging to discover, it's run perfectly. Using it to control some zigbee buttons via Home Assistant and haven't had any problems. Coverage extends the length of our entire house (about 30 feet in either direction). Solid little aluminum unit. Not bad for ~$30 USD.

Short lived
Died after less than a year. Took my whole Raspberry Pi down offline until I removed it.
