They are too clumpyYou need to part the toes.But these are not totally comfortable.They were cheap enough but that's not good enough if you don't use them.

I got this as something I could wear during the day to help correct a slightly bent big toe. Fortunately it seems to be doing the trick as it has encouraged me to walk on the toe normally and prevent sore patches forming. Useful to pop on when you feel the issue returning and so far it has met my expectations.At the time of writing the pack of 8 spacers costs £7.99 which per spacer is about right. Not sure why you would need 8 to be honest as the most I have used is 2-3 and that's because I washed one off between uses. That said, given the shape of the spacer, it could be hit and miss for some people. Depends on the level of deformity in the joint and whether this would support it enough.

Easy to use, no notice on change but early days

I have tried a number of ‘toe spreaders’ (see photo - all available on Amazon UK) and the 8-pack HioIoiH Gel Toe Bunion Separator are the largest single-toe spreader. The spacer provides about a 1.5 cm gap between the first and second toe. Due to their size, I have used one on each large toe and so far these are OK to wear. I have used these walking for a few days with no significant discomfort although due to their size, if you are walking outside in closed shoes, the foot may become tight in the shoe. For me, this happens in my normal shoes (Merrell). My bunion is in its early stage and I don’t get pain from it so I cannot comment on pain relief. The price is reasonable and I think that they will last for some time before stretching or breaking - which eventually toe spreaders all do.Toe spreaders will not reverse the condition but may relieve some pain, and marginally slow down the progression. Toe spreaders are used and provided at times by the NHS - so the healthcare benefit must have been assessed and found useful in some cases. If you have a developing bunion - worth trying but look carefully at the other options on Amazon as you may find a more suitable shape depending on your symptoms.
