Saturn Action Replay 4M Auto Plus

I bought this for the multiregion capabilities and it does the job spot on. Just slot it into the Saturn, turn it on, let it load the action replay and then pop in your game disc and press play disc. Tried it with the Japanese version of Burning Rangers and it works great!My only complaint would be that the cartridge doesn't come with action replay codes. But with easy access to the internet, it's a breeze to find the codes.

Easy to use, plug and play cartridge. Very usefull for storing games save states and many cheats for make old games a bit easier.

Amazing. Product to erase and disable the main purpose of it to install custom. Firmware. Worked a treat to play backups of my original games and keep them. Protected!

Anyone with a saturn who want's to get the most from it might want to buy this as it's a cheats cartridge ,memory card ,ram enhancer (for certain fighting games) and import game player all in one. Although the cartridge does have cheats on it it's more than likely some of the games you like may be missing on it (there are uk game codes on the cartridge but there are a lot of codes for the us and japanese games) ,new codes can be entered but finding a website with them can be a problem as datel doesn't have any for sega saturn but i found a website with all sega saturn action replay codes at CHEAT CHASER.The save game memory is 4x the amount of memory than the standard saturn back up memory cartridge ,the ram enhancer i only know works with certain fighting games (marvel super heroes is one of the games compatable) ,its supposed to give the graphics/backgrounds more detail (i can never see any difference) and it will appear as 3m ram mode in the options menu of the game that it's compatable with and it's always switched on. The import player i havn't tried yet because i dont have any import games at the moment but this action replay is supposed to play all us and japanese games on a uk sega saturn.This action replay does have some flaws and they are getting it to switch on first time ,sometimes the cartridge might not come on and the saturn will just load your game normally (i usually just blow the pins on the cartridge and reinsert it) and sometimes the cheats will work and sometimes when using the same cheats they will decide to crash the game but thats nothing to do with the cheats it's due to the cartridge for some reason not being reconised in the saturn (this is very rarely).

It’s been working fineI don’t use the cheats so I can’t comment on thatI do you the multi region & 1MB/4MB RAM expansion (KoF97)I had RAM issues original (basically a warning saying game can’t continue without RAM cart)What I’ve read online and found works for me is using a thick piece of card to make sure the cartridge Pins are securely inserted inside the machine (see pic)Other than that its a bit pricey but it’s a great piece of hardware if you want to experience some of the best Japanese Saturn titles

If you are trying to play old school games like X-Men vs Street Fighter or Samurai Showdown this is what you need. Completely defeats having to change RAM cards, works first time so you don't ever have to wiggle it to check it's working.I purchased this for use with a Japanese sega saturn and works perfectly with no problems at all.EDIT: Just to add if your not sure about this purchase due to the box, it literally does look like that, I know, 4 fonts and the graphic design makes it look ultra bootleg but it actually slaps.

I bought the first card (Action replay +4M ram +4M memory) in 1998. It worked very well until early this year. R.I.P.A few month later I found that, the same card is being sold on Amazon! I bought it without any hesitation.Plug it into my old saturn console. It works! Everything is still the same as the 22yr old one. It still out performs most of its competitors designed and manufactured in recent years.Highly recommended for all Sega Saturn owner.

This is great except for one thing that needs noting - I bought this to use as a memory card and it doesn’t work like an actual Sega made memory card - games wouldn’t let me save directly to the memory card that normally do. All I could do was copy the saves I made to the system over to the memory card after I was done playing. This was ok enough but an extra step which is a pain and could be so easy to forget to do.
