I saw a video on growing microgreens and it seemed so simple. I pretty much have a black thumb as I'm great at starting plants but horrible at maintaining them. My husband rolled his eyes when I bought these grow jars but this whole experiment has made me feel like a green thumb Rockstar! The jar kit makes it failproof really. The jar and stand suspend the wet seeds so they can drain properly and the slip cover keeps the darkened environment which gives me a better germination rate (I only use the cover the first couple of days). Within 4-5 days there is a consistent healthy crop of microgreens that I add to my daily salads. Even my husband is impressed!

This is an update. It took a while, but the seller sent upgraded lids and bands. I have used them for one week and, so far, no rust! These are definitely better than the original lids we were sent. I’m only giving 4 stars because it took several weeks to get a replacement, but I am happy with the seller’s attempt to fix the problem, even after my return time expired, and would purchase from them again.Original review: After only a few uses, these bands and screens are very rusty. Scrubbing removes some of the rust, but I shouldn’t have to scrub my lids every few days. I’m going back to plastic sprout jar lids. $20 lesson. The return time has run out, so I’m stuck. The stands and jar sleeves are fine.

Everything but the Mason jar to make four sprouters for seeds. The lids and screens are good quality and have held up well to the dishwasher so far. I really like the sleeves, as I previously would put in a cupboard and then forget to rinse. With the light-blocking sleeves,you can leave them on your counter. --Dee

I've been growing sprouts in mason jars for quite a while, always looking for replacement screens/lids and to increase the variety of sprouts growing at the same time. Very pleased to find stainless steel screens and bands, also pleased with the stands. Don't be like me. Pay attention to the fact that there are tightening screws on the stand and use them before you put your jar on (lol!) My only criticism is the included instructions regarding growing sprouts. It's confusing the way it is written and it is not accurate for some of the sprouts I grow. Search online for your specific crop and water accordingly. Overall, very pleased with this purchase at this price.

The lids with screens are high quality and easy to clean. The glass covers fit a Mason jar and are easy to slide on and off. I will likely repurchase as I love giving these as gifts and introducing others to sprouting. That being said, I would have really liked it if the collapsible stand would fit inside a wide mount jar without disassembly. Overall review - 5 stars!
