78095 Ceiling Fan and Light Infrared Remote Control

I replaced my (Westinghouse fan) faulty remote unit with this one. The original was a pancake shape unit fitted above the fan. This one has to be fitted inside the bracket then concealed by the metal bowl/shroud. It’s a bit tricky getting it into place and arranging the wiring around it but once installed it works great, in fact much better than the old one as the remote can be pointed anywhere in the room and it still picks up the signal easily. The remote itself has clearly labelled buttons and dims the lights as well as controlling the fan at three speeds. If you have a Westinghouse fan the connectors are compatible with the older remote system so just click into place with no new wiring required.

Product was ordered at 13:45 on the 2th December, it arrived at 14:50 21st December and was fitted and working by 15:10 21st December. It was a straight swap for the remote box that fits in the fan, the bonus is that the old hand control works with the new unit so I now have a spare hand control. I did look at cheaper chinese alternatives however, the reviews were bad and the translation of some of the technical stuff was both complicated and written in that way that chine stuff often is, that is to say it was poorly translated. New fan would have cost £100 or so, now the old fan is working perfectly, it had a good thorough clean while it was down and the whole job cost just short of £27. Happy days.

This remote control is identical to that which controls my other fan in the same room. I have yet to instal and test the new fan and control, but if the existing other one is anything to go by, they are far superior to others in my bedrooms. Love my fans in the summer, excellent value for money and not too expensive to run.

Bought this to repair our bedroom ceiling fan/light which stopped responding to the remote - it refused to turn off. The original manufacturers were asking a lot of money for a replacement remote and controller. This item was much better value and works fantastically (if you pardon the pun). It was easy to wire up with some straightforward diagrams. The black dot attached to a white cable in the photo is actually the sensor which is located just outside of the fan housing but is unobtrusive. The remote is actaully of a better design and construction than the original that came with the fan.

Bought for a ceiling fan from a different manufacturer which uses the same controller box. The plug was different (as I fully expected) but it was a simple job to cut the plugs off my old controller and new controller and fit the old one with block connectors so it now plugs straight in :) Remote is MUCH better than my old one. The old one I had to pretty much AIM at the fan and keep pressing the button until it registered... The new remote I can point in the completely opposite direction or at a wall and it works first press! :)

Bought this on the basis of other reviews and am delighted with it. I have an old Mirage ceiling fan bought years ago from B & Q, batteries leaked in the controller, wrecking the electronics and effectively made the fan redundant. I didn't want to pay a for a new controller so this at £30 was ideal and better still I didn't have to change the actual control unit, the transmitter operates my fan perfectly. For info, the old infrared remote control is marked model ID8 on the back. I was tempted by the later radio controlled remote but this would have definitely meant having to change the control unit.

Die Fernbedienung funktioniert sehr gut. Der Infrarotempfänger an der Decke lässt sich aus allen Zimmerecken ansteuern, auch wenn er z.B.: vom Ventilator verdeckt wird. Die Montage innerhalb der Glocke des Westinghouse Ventilators ist etwas kniffelig, da er dort exakt reinpasst und die Kabel dann noch untergebracht werden müssen. Hat aber dann doch recht unproblematisch funktioniert. Die elektrische Installation ist sehr einfach da einfach die an der Empfangseinheit angebrachten Stecker mit denen des Ventilators verbunden werden müssen. Man kann da auch nichts falsch machen da man die Stecker nur in einer Position passen und man nichts falsch zusammenstecken kann. Die Dimmfunktion funktioniert auch im Zusammenspiel mit einer dimmbaren E14 LED Birne. Man muss lediglich relativ lange auf die Dimm-Taste drücken bis sich was tut. Schön ist auch dass die letzte Dimm-Position gespeichert bleibt, nachdem die Lampe ausgeschaltet wurde. Somit bin ich aktuell voll zufrieden. Achtung Batterien sind nicht dabei, steht aber so auch in der Beschreibung.

Contro: Batterie non incluse: Avrei apprezzato la presenza delle batterie AA nel pacchetto, in quanto sono necessarie per il funzionamento del telecomando. Plastica un po' fragile: La plastica con cui è realizzato il telecomando potrebbe risultare meno resistente nel tempo rispetto ad altri materiali. Mancanza di alcune funzioni: Alcuni modelli di ventilatori potrebbero non essere completamente compatibili con tutte le funzioni del telecomando. Verdetto: Il telecomando Westinghouse 78095 è un'ottima soluzione per chi desidera controllare il proprio ventilatore da soffitto in modo semplice e veloce. La sua facilità d'uso e la buona portata lo rendono un prodotto interessante. Tuttavia, la mancanza delle batterie e la qualità dei materiali potrebbero far propendere per modelli più robusti e completi. Consigliato a: Chi cerca un telecomando economico e funzionale per il proprio ventilatore da soffitto Westinghouse. Chi desidera una soluzione semplice per regolare la velocità del ventilatore e l'intensità della luce.
