Adore this cookbook
I have made many recipes from this book and love every one! I often use this book when cooking for friends or groups or just dinner! It has so many great ideas for quick, simple nutritious recipes that are easy and low-carb! I originally found this book at the library but had to buy it after I found too many recipes to copy!

Great cookbook for someone who doesn't like to cook
I was told by my doctor that I needed to go on a low-carb diet. This cookbook along with "Healthy Carb Cookbook for Dummies" did the trick for me. I just had my blood checked after using these two cookbooks as guidelines for the last two months and my cholesterol and triglycerides were all greatly improved and within the healthy guidelines. As a result of this, my husband and I have totally changed our eating habits and have lost some weight and feel much better physically.

Not Low Carb
If you are serious about eating low carb, this is not the book you're looking for. This is a weird mixture of The Zone, glycemic index, and blind devotion to the Food Pyramid. Much of the information in the opening diet guide is out of date and simply wrong. Many of the recipes in this book prove that if you make the portion size small enough, you can call anything "low carb," even if it is a third of a cup of rice or a brownie the size of a fifty cent piece (and even then it is still 20 grams of carbs!). No low carb recipe that is actually low carb contains sugar, milk chocolate, or rice flour.If you want to know about real low carb, low carb that works and is sustainable, first read Gary Taubes Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It , then Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution or The Primal Blueprint: Reprogram your genes for effortless weight loss, vibrant health, and boundless energy (Primal Blueprint Series) . Then go find real low carb cookbooks, like Low Carb-ing Among Friends Cookbooks: Gluten-free, Low-carb, Atkins, Wheat-Belly, Friendly to: Paleo, Primal, Wheat-free, Sugar-Free, Recipes, Diet, Cookbook (Gluten-Free Low-Carb ing, Among Friends, V1 (11-Nov-11)) , Nutritious and Delicious , or even something by George Stella. Better yet, hunt up the message boards and blogs where the people who are living real low carb lives with years of experience share their recipes, because we all have quirks and issues and needs that exist outside of the printed page and you might find someone who can help or at least some good food ideas that will actually work.
