Unpack & fully read instructions
Fully read supplied instructions & install product to required location, into a socket point inline with sunlight for automatic day/night led light operation if required.. Leave product switched on to charge internalbatteries & for power failure indication. Manufacturer recommends a minimum of 24hrs continuous charging to reach maximum capacity & performance. The overall performance, quality, led brightness & value for money is good with wireless charging technology thrown in! Update one of my units went faulty, & was replaced Warning 2 off these items have now failed!

Does what is says on the box
Purchased at the beginning of the lockdown just in case we'd have to eventually deal with blackouts. The device is plugged straight into a plug socket and acts as a night light (It comes on and off automatically). As soon as you unplug it, the torch comes on automatically. It isn't the type of torch you could use to explore a cave or run through a forest at night with... But it is plenty bright enough to provide you with enough light inside your home to comfort you or help you find your way to the cupboard where you keep your candles!

This version of the light is much better
This is a indiction charged light that turns on if the electricity to it is switched off... Also turns on the side light if there is motion detected. BUT you can turn down or off the motion detection light so you're not blinded by it every time you walk past it at night. The older model didn't have this option and can be very irritating, ....but that is not what it's most useful for. We have one at the top and the bottom of the stairs. One is the newer type, the other is the older style. And we use them all the time. Every time we need a torch to look under a desk or plug in a computer, get something out of the car (no street lighting here). I'd say they're used every day, especially in the understair cupboard. Because it is induction chaged like a toothbrush, it's just a case of picking up the light and dropping it back in the holder. You don't have to put it in some strange way so wire connect. Ok, a bit of a random review, but it's a nice bit of kit, without the annoyances of the older version. NOTE: The older ones without the side light switch off are still sold. Get this instead. Recommended.

A great addition to any home, especially in an emergency during the night.
Earlier this year we apparently lost electrical power one night in the early hours, discovered only when we were woken by an alarm sounding downstairs. The phone, a cordless one, was not working, and my mobile phone was downstairs. I found an old torch in my bedside drawer and used that to go downstairs. The noise was from our Carbon Monoxide alarm, which was sounding loudly. We hurriedly dressed and went outside, wondering what could be the cause, which wasn't obvious. With my mobile I contacted the power company who agreed to send an engineer ASAP. They transferred me to the National Grid regarding the CO alarm. It turned out eventually that an underground power cable, close to and feeding our meter box had blown, making Carbon Monoxide in the process, triggering the battery-powered alarm. We agreed that lack of a reliable light to find our way around had proved the worst handicap at the time. Months later we saw the Nitesafe in a holiday cottage we rented, and saw immediately how this would have met so many of our needs on that night, fumbling around in the near dark while finding what we needed, as we were forced to exit our home for our safety and wait there for assistance to arrive. I really think this device is a great addition to any home, always having a bright and fully charged torch or worklight for normal use, along with a nightlight for use while charging, and an automatic indicator of loss of power during hours of darkness. In an emergency where you lose electrical power, you will thank goodness you have it. I'm very happy with the addition to our home and have no hesitation jn recommending it

Practical nightlight and emergency torch for elderly mum
I got this for my elderly mum in the event of a power cut making her fumble around in the dark. I like that you can choose whether to have the nightlight or not, because I wasn't sure she'd want that. It turns out she likes it in the hallway if she has to get up in the night. And then if there is a power cut, it's a handy little torch that comes on automatically so is easy to find. I like that this model can rotate freely in the charging cradle, which means you can point the nightlight in a preferred direction; some models have non circular profiles that mean you're limited there. It doesn't have motion detection (don't know why the review asks to rate that). I'd rate it as extremely easy to use once you've got the slider switch set for the desired nightlight mode; I find it fiddly to select the position you want, but that's not a big issue because that's generally a "set and forget" thing.

Good When Working
My first one went faulty after a month so it was replaced. Just a year down the line apparently the base is not charging. I have bought a whole new unit and if this again lasts just on a year I will try other similar products.
