Clever, lightweight solution for a diffuser
Our daughter has very curly, dry hair and hates having her hair dryed. But, it's currently FREEZING cold here at the moment so I can't let her run around with a wet head for hours while her hair drys. I hunted around for diffusers that would fit on any hairdryer and found lots of plastic ones with large feet that look just like an accident waiting to happen drying the hair of a wiggling 3 year old. This was a completely different style of product, it's a foam bag that fits over the nozzle of the hairdryer and diffuses the heat. She will sit still and let me use it to dry her hair because there's not hot air rushing in her face anymore, and her curls have come lovely. Such a simple idea, and so effective. It doesn't weigh down the hairdryer to make it hard to use, it will slip into any suitcase without taking up room or weight. I'm delighted with it.

Good product
I really like this product. It's a bit of a rip-off price for what is basically a piece of foam fabric but it cuts down the frizz on my curly hair to virtually nil. BUT you have to watch how you use it as your hair can stick to the foam so I find the trick is to gently place it in the hair, keep it perfectly still whilst drying that bit, then gently remove and repeat in another section. I can see how people could end up with a frizzy mess if they 'waggle' the sock around in their hair in order to speed up drying time as the hair would stick to the foam. I've used it on two different hairdryers so far and it's fitted okay - one was a wide nozzle and the other a narrow nozzle. If you needed to fit it to a very narrow nozzle I would just secure it with a band. Good for travelling as not bulky like a conventional diffuser

Best diffuser
As a diffuser it works well & is small & convenient. I’ve used mine endlessly and 4 years down the line it still works - although I’ve had to put an elastic band on the end by the hairdryer nozzle to hold it on. Excellent for travel & space saving.

Keeps blowing off the end of the hairdryer
Bought this as ai travel a lot and it is well reviewed. I’ve heard it mentioned in a few places that it’s meant to be good for curly hair. It definitely dried my hair and kept my curls/waves and it fit the end of the hotel hairdryer however my issue was that it kept coming off even at the lowest speed so it took a while to dry my hair.

Amazing, its really works!!!
Was dubious at first because of the price for just a piece of spongy material and cost of delivery. However, after reading reviews of this product on the internet I wanted to try to bring my naturally wavy/curly hair back to its former glory and ordered it. It took a while for it to arrive as it comes from America and is light as a feather. I've recently had my hair trimmed and I don't know if its a combination of that and using this product which has given me back my luscious full bodied curls. I was desperate for them to return, as my hair had become thin, flat and was almost losing all curl, nothing but frizz. Combined with a curl defining spray, which after washing hair I use just a little, I held my head upside down and started to scrunch dry, placing the hot sock a couple of inches over the nozzle of my hairdryer. Just before it was fully dry I threw my head back to be amazed at my maine of glory. Now I find my hair doesn't get as greasy because I have fuller curls and don't need to use so much product to tame the frizz. So I only need to blow dry my hair twice a week. Its such a boost to my confidence to have my lovely curls back and thick hair again. So I am so grateful I discovered this little beauty of a wonder product. Amazing!

Results barely noticeable.
An impulse buy, though my thick and wavy long hair looks okay the reviews for Hot Sock were generally good and I came to feel I might be missing a trick by not having one. I've used it only once since I acquired it and have no immediate plans to use it again. My hairdryer is a very basic Revlon without diffuser. I've never liked the diffusers that often seem to come as standard with less basic hairdryers and saw Hot Sock as an easy to use solution...................albeit to a problem I didn't really have! If you love diffusers and can't live without one, Hot Sock is clearly a good way to transport a diffuser that weighs about the same as an empty ice cream cone on holiday.Hot Sock is about as much use as I've ever found a standard diffuser to be. It fits my dryer well and did not become detached during use. However, It lengthened the time taken to dry my hair very considerably and added nothing noticeable to its appearance. The reviews I'd read had left me with the impression that unless a diffuser such as Hot Sock were used, the result after using a hairdryer would be less wavy than it could be but my hair was no more wavy after using Hot Sock than it is following blow drying without the device. My personal wave enhancing tip is simply to run a golf ball sized squirt of decent hair mousse designed for curly/wavy tresses through your towel dried hair then hang your head down to blow dry scrunching as you go. It works and the waves last.

Nifty piece of kit, well worth the money!
Brilliant idea - hats off to whoever thought of this!I chipped the end of my hairdryer, which means that the diffuser which came with it will no longer fit. The dryer itself still works well, but I thought I'd have to buy a new one, until I saw this. One of the problems I had with the diffuser that came with my hairdryer was its weight and size; it made drying my hair a real chore. The Hot Sock is a really nifty piece of kit. It is virtually weightless and - judging by the instructions - will probably fit most hairdryers. Definitely worth the money as it has extended the life of my hairdryer. I will probably carry on using it with any new dryer I buy in the future.

Expensive gimmick not worth the money
Expensive gimmick - just a piece of cylindrical foam that slips onto the end of the dryer - using your hand cupped over the end with a warm (not hot) airflow is just as effective. I have short-ish curly/wavy hair and the result was not good. I felt that it was a really tacky piece of simple foam with an elastic band in the end to cinch it to the hairdryer- I returned it.
