Fun little indoor RC toy for the money
First, this is a very nice looking little toy with more metal on it than I expected at this price point. (It should hold up to a few "oops" moments.) Being able to see right through it to the gears and motors inside is very neat. The controller takes 6 AA batteries and is a decent size for even larger hands (I wear an XL glove and find the controller to be perfectly comfortable.)The helicopter itself has a built in rechargeable battery that can be plugged into a USB dongle. As an alterative, there is a small compartment on the controller with a charging cord so you can charge the 'copter directly from the batteries in the controller. The signal from the controller to the drone is infrared. This means that it will work best at shorter, indoor distances out of direct sunlight. If you're looking for a long-distance, outdoor RC helicopter then this isn't the one for you.Control of the craft is good but you must be "active." In this day and age of "smart" drones that automatically hold position based on cameras and GPS, we've gotten a bit spoiled. This one will make you work for it, but it's fun to master hand-flying something again. The controller provides a single-axis throttle stick on the left (which will control the height of hover and overall available "power" to the rotors), and a dual axis stick on the right that handles pitch (forward and reverse movement) and yaw (direction). There is a nob in the middle of the controller to apply trim to the yaw control to ensure that the copter doesn't yaw around on its own. (You'll need this after you smack a few bookshelves with it.)Note that it DOES NOT have the ability to fly laterally (sideways). This presents and additional flight challenge when the windows are open and a breeze blows it sideways - you need to quickly rotate in the direction you want to travel and apply forward pitch. In this case though, I think the challenge is fun. (What would be the point if it just hung there in mid-air all by itself?)Overall it's a fun little toy at this price point. A great gift for kids to get them off of the video games and get them controlling something in the real world with real-world consequences.

Better than expected R/C helicopter
The media could not be loaded. This appears to be a re-branded Syma R/C helicopter that uses the same body and, in fact, the same model #. Syma have been in the business for a long time and have a good name value. The helicopter mostly lives up to that reputation, supplying a surprisingly controlled and realistic flight that even allows for soft landings that leave the chopper upright. How cool is THAT?The frame under the thin plastic shell is metal, giving the bird a decent amount of solid control. This helps translate into not just more stable flight, but a surprising and kind of coolly quiet flight. The audio in the video supplied here is NOT adjusted to downplay the chopper sound even at close range. You receive the chopper, a spare tail rotor blade, an infrared remote control unit and a USB charger. The Remote also includes a hidden cable to use it as a charger as well if you are out in the field and want another go at the controls. The remote, as I say, is infrared which means don't fly her too far away from you, and don't fly outside or in any bright light scenario. Sunlight will cancel out the controls. Otherwise the remote is easy to understand and has literally the nicest trim feature I've encountered, a simple dial below and between the two toggles which allows you to adjust any unwanted spin in the flight. If you watch the video carefully you will notice the tail rotor, which is horizontal as opposed to vertical, does not always spin. It is the part that determines if the chopper angles downward for forward flight or back for reverse flight. The spin stabilization of the main rotos is adeptly handled by having contra-rotating blades AND a sway bar to help maintain stability. The up/down is a little tricky to get the hang of, but it CAN be managed. Directional flight is mostly easy to accomplish, but don't expect very fast speeds. That's another reason to only fly this outdoors in early evening with almost no air movement. The ability to hover is unparallelled. She can hang in the air effortlessly just like the real deal and can handle lift off and landing with some degree of subtlety. She's definitely fun to fly, just not robust in the speed department.

Fun little helicopter to fly around inside
This is a nice little RC helicopter. It's not too hard to fly, but it definitely takes some practice to get it to fly level, and keep it from either shooting off into the ceiling or dropping to the floor... it handles pretty well, other than the controls seem to be a bit overly responsive... though I think that might just be a ME problem. Because I've had that issue with every other RC drone or helicopter I've had. So it's probably me.It's taken a pretty good beating under my piloting and it's still holding up pretty well. Seems to be a good value for the price if you just want to casually fly around occasionally.

Fun R/C ‘copters when they work
These little helicopters can be loads of fun when they’re not busy being fickle. I got two and had some difficulty with them registering commands from the controller just a few feet away and with a full charge. I’d attempt to get it to take off but the propellers wouldn’t always spin up right away. It would always start to work after a few attempts, but that part is a little frustrating.Other than that, they were pretty fun to use. Build quality seems fitting of the price point They were well-packaged and the instructions were clear enough. I thought it was pretty neat that you can charge them from the controller or through a USB charger. Overall, not bad but not sure I’d buy them again.

Not great
This helicopter doesn't respond well to the remote, you have to be close to it and have it pointed almost perfectly straight at the helicopter for it to even pick up signal. A lot of times you have it up in the air and it just loses signal and drops out of the sky.
