It’s a wonderful piece of equipment and can do so much. I was a bit surprised how heavy and durable it is when I really expected a more delicate piece. The ability to use USB or the XLR cord is helpful if we do a recording with the Rodecaster pro 2 we don’t have to have all the major equipment and cheap USB mics will do just fine and if we can do a whole setup and have more time then the quality will just be even better. It’s our first step to our own high quality podcast. People definitely take note of the professionalism that the Rodecaster pro 2 brings. I never did a podcast but this helps walk you through each stage and the ease of use is phenomenal. It’s easy to have it layed out of all packed up ready for the trip is great cause one case and it all goes into it and nothing is jammed in or anything, fit perfectly 😀

So far, this one is as awesome as the first one. The microphones are probably not as good as some of the higher end ones, but this is a great setup.

If you’re thinking about recording audio, BUY IT NOW! The mics are phenomenal, and the audio it creates is top notch.

Despite all the overwhelming number of positive reviews, they don't seem to mention the problems that have been seen by users of this equipment. Unfortunately, I purchased before I found the dirt. The seller authorized the return but would not pay for return shipping despite my contention that the item was materially less than represented. I simply opened an already opened dirty box, looked at the quality and was immediately disappointed. This does not qualify as professional audio equipment in my book. Then I find the issues others have noted including system instability and crashes, audio distortion, loss of settings, and problems with specific features after updates. I have not put this item to the test, but I have decided that it is not worth $800 when alternative are available. God forbid I put it all together, and I will be assessed a 20% restocking fee. Buyer beware of this third party seller. So, what did a bit of investigation reveal about this system? (again, these are from other users - Apparently not in the raving review crowd) System Crashes and Freezes: Users report that the mixer can freeze or hard reset, sometimes requiring the power cord to be pulled to clear the issue. Some specific updates have reportedly caused the device to get stuck on a loading screen or crash during the update process itself. Audio Distortion and Noise: Several reviewers mention the introduction of audio crackling, popping, or increased noise levels after a firmware update. Specific issues include the Aphex Exciter processing resulting in higher noise and general audio distortion on the USB inputs/outputs. Loss of Settings: The device may forget saved configurations after a reboot or update. This can include custom routing mute statuses, LCD brightness, sound pad trim levels, and other show settings. Feature Malfunctions: Specific features sometimes stop working correctly post-update. Examples include the noise gate/de-esser cutting audio in and out, smart audio buttons failing to play content, and mute/unmute buttons becoming unresponsive. Connectivity and Transfer Issues: Users have faced problems with the unit reliably connecting to Wi-Fi or being detected by the RØDE Central app. File transfer to a computer via USB can also fail, with the computer reporting the attached disk is unreadable, potentially linked to corrupted sound files on the pads. Incomplete Factory Resets: Even after performing a factory reset via the RØDE Central app or on the device itself, some users find that old data or recorded content on the pads is not fully cleared. These are not my list of complaints, they are from multiple other reviews, I simply compiled them. As to there accuracy, I can't actually say. For myself, I didn't order this to create additional problems in an already complex world. What disturbed me the most was the physical quality. I know what professional audio equipment feels like. It isn't this. So, I'm dissatisfied, I tell them so. They issue a return label, but it's on my dime. I have to pay for something that I believe was misrepresented. They also talk about restocking fees for opened boxes. What about dirty boxes that come already have been opened? The seller was unhelpful to say the least. Amazon has said that they will make it right. Good on them. Not so much for this seller.

I can't say enough good things about the RODECaster Pro II! It does everything it says and then some. You need to buy this, NOW!
